I’ve been asked many times before if it was acceptable to wear a cummerbund and braces/suspenders at the same time. The answer is, of course! It is totally acceptable. Wearing a belt with suspenders on the other hand is a very different issue, as both items have the same purpose, to hold up the trousers, making it redundant for the wearer to wear both. A cummerbund has a different purpose, to cover your waist giving you a more slender figure. . Additionally , a waistcoat has the same purpose as the cummerbund, it covers the waist so it would make sense not to wear both at the same time. . I am sure many of you already knew this, but felt I had to make a mention.
