#bl recommendation

Alright! I went through MDL and found everything I rated 10/10 and... let's see! These are in no specific order, they all got 10/10 from me.

The Eighth Sense: Oh, it's just glorious. Deeply emotional and full of love and new love and old pain and trauma and fighting through everything, including yourself, to be loved and to love.

Love for Love's Sake: Same as the above but it's an isekai and it's also just gorgeous. These two shows are a must if you want deep and emotional BLs about healing and loving and finding it in yourself to love yourself through love.

Unintentional Love Story: I adored this BL about a young man who finds himself trying to get back a job in a horrible place and slowly falling in love against his own will. And a side couple reunion that will NEVER BE COMPLETED /sobs/ but the rest is good!

Boys Be Brave!: A beautiful and funny show about realizing that you don't just have to do what makes other people happy and can, in fact, be yourself no matter what that means and still be loved.

Cherry Blossoms After Winter: I'm not sure how this has aged, honestly. It was an early KBL. But it was so soft and tender and filled with love based on deep friendship and I just adored it.

Light On Me: The quintessential Korean high school BL. Absolutely lovely and lively and just wonderful. Another one that's great for softness, communication and a lot of friendship.

Love Reset: It's one of the Korean minidramas and it's about healing a longterm relationship going sour and it's just... it's really good, okay? And short. Teeny tiny. But full of emotion.

A First Love Story: One of very few BLs about the Korean army and required enlistment and just... it's just good. Just watch it.

Color Rush: The ultimate soulmates BL about only seeing color when your soulmate is with you. It's great. Skip the second season. Not worth it.

The Prosecutor's Proposal: It's great. Absolutely amazing. I love the relationships with the characters and the trauma and the story! A very good show.

Let Free The Curse of Taekwondo: This one is a lot more harsh than most of my other favorites. Very good, very well done, but there's a lot of very deep and very real pain that will tear you apart.

There was maybe one or two others but they were mostly teeny tiny ones that I felt didn't need to be on the list. But anyway! These are the top 11 10/10 Korean BLs on my MDL list!

No BL for last couple days but I have been just perusing your blog like it's my morning newspaper. Even though I'm watching maybe 2 shows and the rest is incomprehensible to me 😂.

Here's a fun question for you. Based on the shows you are currently watching.

Which couple would you like to be a fly on the wall for a "date"? Or like ranking some of your favorites?

Oooo. I mean, watching the shows I get to be a fly on the wall for their dates, lol. That's the joy of the show!

But just my favorites... well, similar things.

Payback is definitely one of my favorite shows airing and I love how it's gone and I think they can stick the landing so I'm pretty excited for the finale. I suspect it'll be a bit rushed but that's okay with me.

I am in love with Knot and I would like more time on the wall with the non main couple because I love Nakhun and Phatsa but they have One Single Issue that they need to solve.

The Servant Prince is everything to me and I need more dates between them because they are growing their communication so beautifully.

I need Blue Lips to get them talking eventually because I adore them so much and they're both hurting so much and I just want them to be okay and happy again because they're both in love, damnit!

Are the Sexy Buttocks Not Good? should be a bit longer but I'm enjoying it for what it is, what can I say? I need them to go on cute dates and let me waaatch.

So.. hmmm. I am fascinated by Bittersweet Love being a contender for this but not Payback, honestly.

Honestly? Have you tried Blazing Him? It's a strange little show and their relationship starts off rocky but they are genuinely and desperately in love with each other the entire time. It's a little hidden by anxiety and trauma but it's there in their hearts the whole time. It's not the best show ever but I really enjoyed it.

Blue Lips is also an odd choice for this but they basically fall at the same time and the rest is just... trauma, again.

Love Class 3 might also work for you. Hard to tell, honestly. But it might!

I didn't like it but Love You Teacher might work very, very well for you. It's an established and loving relationship from before the show starts. Very odd premise and I did not like the emotional lines of the show but many people did. So you might!

Do you have fun BLs to offer distracting in these trying times ?

Study the best you can! But sometimes a little bit of distraction is good.

Are you looking for currently airing BL? Then I'd go with Knot. Knot is amazing and goofy and yes it has plotholes but sometimes we just have to drive a truck through the holes to enjoy a show. Because enjoy it I am.

I'd also add Be My Player Two. It's fun and vibrant and bright and it's goofy but with a heart of gold. So far. It's only been two episodes but I'm loving it.

Assuming fun also means lighthearted I'd also lean towards Your Summer, My Storm because it's adorable and darling and might just be about a crush but it's also about studying, lol. So thematic to your real life.

Toxic uke is not common, honestly. Sadly.

But your best bet is Yesterday. Which is... as close as I can get. VERY good toxic black flag stuff with China's traditional 'diagnosed with a mental illness at the end to explain it all' but a great ride along the way. A bit hard on Thailand's traditional 'forgive everything and never look back' but one accepts that.

As for others... again, it's a pretty unusual trope? I might put Revenged Love on this list, honestly, because the toxicity and lying did start with the uke character so like... yeah, I think that'd work!

The secondary, tragic, couple in 4 Minutes also fits this to some extent. You could give it a try?

I want to put Be My Favorite here because he definitely starts out as the really toxic and manipulative one. Now, it's for Reasons but it always is, isn't it? Could fit your needs, at least for a bit.

Don't Say No... well, okay, more during TharnType 2 when they were introduced.... but this one works in a lot of ways and it's definitely the uke who's the main red flag in this... but it is MAME so like everyone gets their turn to some extent?

But I do know the Perfect 10 Liners is similar and it's on my list. Do you have other shows I should include that have friendship groups as the stars of the show?

I would add Fourever You to that list. There's a great friendship base for the show and it just keeps coming back and their bonds always bring them up and make them better and it's great. Not quite as much as We Are but like... it's very, very present and it guides the characters and their choices.

Perfect 10 Lines... I guess is kind of like that? There is some of it, though, so enjoy! I liked 2/3rds of that show.

Honestly? Revenged Love has an amazing friend story on both sides and is about the friendships coming together. It's mostly about romance, yes, but the friendship is HUGE and it's just really good.

Not entirely but I'm gonna add Tonhon Chonlatee here because there's so much friendship in that show.

Y-Destiny might actually be good for this? It's romance centric but the friendship connects the stories and forms a strong base. Ehhhh, I'm on the fence about it but I'm gonna add it.
