I will always appreciate Martyn's characters taking controversial decisions. I feel sometimes creators fall into trying to making their characters completely likeable and therefore might accidentally make them and their stories not very interesting.
However, even tho some of the audience seems confused or annoyed about Martyn's shitty decisions last Vampires episode, I think it's great? First of all, as he has already explained in a post, bc it made sense due to the context.
And second, bc it just makes everything more interesting if there's conflict between characters and everyone is not happily working together, especially when this is due to characters' flaws and not bc of environmental circunstances. By now, that mess has already given us some more juicy Apo angst (which is great, she is probably my favourite Vampires character so of course I like me some Apokuna angst lol) and given their dynamic with Martyn, which was already great, more depth going forward. And also makes Martyn's relationship with Cleo more interesting!
(And while this is a Martyn-centric post, a moment to appreciate how well Apo acted that scene as well, it wouldn't have had nearly the same impact without her being a fucking crazy good roleplayer)
I hope this leads to character development for the 2 of them in the future, and at least 1 angsty confrontation (fingers crossed)
