Peter paused for a moment at the question, standing still in the crowd that was currently hurrying to get out of some unscheduled sim-rain. Juno could see the droplets clouding Nureyevâs glasses and running down his face like he was dripping diamonds.Â
âCan you hold my hand?â Peter repeated, his mouth turning up into a little grin. Juno immediately regretted asking.
âHey, just wouldnât want you to get lost!â he huffed, throwing his hands into his coat pockets and squaring his shoulders. âBut whatever youâre so tall I could find you easy enough anyway.â
âI keep telling you, people on Mars are just short,â Peter said, taking a moment to try and wipe water from his glasses in vain, âitâs concerning, what do they put in the water here?â
âMind control drugs if Mick is to be believed,â Juno said with a smirk.
âSo, are you still trying to distract me from the fact that you just asked to hold my hand like a nervous teenager?â Nureyevâs smirk wiped Junoâs away.
âI-I dunno, is it wrong to ask?â Juno stammered, keeping his hands firmly tucked away in his coat pockets. He was all too aware of the fact that while he was standing there being stubborn the rain was coming down harder, turning the city gray. Juno shivered and wondered how Nureyev could look so graceful soaked to the bone like that.
âNot at all,â Peter extended his hand with a smile. There was a moment where Juno hesitated and Peter sighed. âCome now, Juno, these shoes are designer, not made for splashing in puddles.â
âAlright!â Juno said, grabbing Peterâs hand. Immediately, Nureyev pulled Juno underneath a nearby awning, and close to his chest, as gracefully as if theyâd been dancing. Peter opened his coat a little and held it around Juno like he was trying to shield him from the storm.Â
âWell you took too long and now weâll have to wait it out here,â he said. âcome closer, dear, youâre shaking like a snitch the day of the heist.â
Juno groaned, but it was a lot warmer up against Nureyevâs chest then it was standing out in the rain alone.
