Mass Production of Recyclable Bioplastics Possible with Cellulose
Mass Production of Recyclable Bioplastics Possible with Cellulose
Good News Notes: “The accumulation of synthetic polyester on the planet has posed a danger to the ecology. Because of its advantageous recyclability, optical clarity, and availability of resources, cellulose film has recently become one of the most appealing alternatives to displace petroleum-based polymers. A left over piece of the bio-plastic I have made colored by the fresh tea.
Not intended, but this piece remained behind in the cupcake form. So just to try out and see what happen :).
EXPERIMENT II POTATO STARCH + WATER + GLYCERINE + COFFEE
With these ingredients you can make you own bio-plastic. I’m working on this process in my department, but I was curious if it was also working with my experiments for LAB. So I have made my own bioplastic and used that together with coffee sludge and fresh tea.
It was in the oven for 4 hours, but it’s still very jelly and wet. So it needs some time to dry. Not sure what I can do with it... But a nice try out.
COMPLETELY DIFFERENT OUTCOME!!
During the 4 hours in the oven I already saw from the beginning a different process. Last week I got nice white crystals, but with these experiments I thought I have made monsters. The exeriments were breathing!! They made a lot of bubbles and moved from top to bottom.
