Currently and forever thinking of the beginning of ep 9 of The Pacific where Peck tells Snafu to fuck off, causing Bill's head to turn to look at Peck and then make fun of Kathy to back Snafu up

ANOTHER BILLSNAF POEM (122 words)
Tooth and nail are clean and shit Know you want to relax some He whines again: You do that all the damn time. Got a cot, new tarp, my stash and Music down there. Man sure can sing sold to play—he won’t regret it My family sent me candles Come and see me at my best He is joking: Is this guy bothering you? I picked dirt from my fingertips ‘Cuz I want knuckles on your tongue Scraping your teeth, dulling trimmed nails Seek me out quick after storms You know what the birds all say Don’t tease me: Get your sweet ass over here. Stay relentlessly breaking me As a tired animal curls On it’s mate so hungry and big

BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH THE POEM STEALS
46 and 51 words respectively. decided to start my day with some warmups hahaha the prompt is My Poem by Joseph Fasano. theres a really sweet and sad and good one that you probably recognize. i tried not to think too hard about each line because i do think this form is best suited for not worrying about how its all gonna come together. im generally more "at war with the process" than trusting it.
i really love how ppl like fasano create prompts like this... in thinking about what kind of poetry billsnaf would write, i couldnt ignore the idea of them plopped into some little poetry workshop at their community center or something... how romantic if one thousand miles away, they end their poems on the same word?
billsnaf poem steal in conversation with kerouac's useless! useless!
Less useless Are his brothers, now—smartly Sleeping in To the sea He needs more of them—he screams As they use Less. Useless! All for truth they claim—youthful They all drive Heavy rain Bloodsucking mud spills—visits Steal his use.
the original poem was a haiku so i cant use it for my free verse homework...damn...anyway i wrote a billsnaf poem instead :DDD
starts off referencing the scene where theyre all sleeping on the side of the road, then snafu's perpetual cry for more men... then i couldnt help but reference dickinson's i died for beauty because its fun thinking about how truth & beauty together usually = youth/maintaining innocence but in that poem they are both very much dead... you wont catch me actually calling shelton a liar and leyden ugly but i COULD if that meant they lived forever... anyway we get back on track to end the poem with bill getting blown up.
we'll call you ball-peen hammer
