People in the vast hinterland to the east might wonder who Chesa is, exactly, and what kind of transformation he has in mind. Bernie Sanders was first to congratulate the victor, and San Francisco voters knew Chesa served as a translator for the regime of Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez. Still, a full understanding must start with Chesa’s mother, Kathy Boudin, a Weather Underground terrorist.

As Matthew Vadum noted, Boudin served 22 years in prison for her role in an assault on an armored car in Nyack, N.Y. that claimed the lives of police officers Waverly Brown and Edward O’Grady along with security guard Peter Paige. Boudin gained parole in 2003 and like other felons secured a position at the Columbia University School of Social Work, “where she crusades against the supposedly systemic racism of the justice system.”

That’s the mother, Kathy Boudin, and Chesa was only 14 months old when the $1.6 million Nyack robbery went down. Radical father David Gilbert drove the getaway car and Chesa was duly adopted by Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. She gained fame for the celebration of the Manson murders. “Dig it!” Dohrn told an SDS rally, “First they killed these pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them!” Stepfather Ayers had similar plans, but on a larger scale.

As David Horowitz explained before Ayers’ 2013 interview with the Daily Beast, the man is a “shallow murderous liar.” The Weather Underground was created in 1969 with a formal “Declaration of War,” against “Amerikka.” As part of this war, Ayers and his wife famously urged others to “kill your parents” and were still being investigated for murder of a policeman in Los Angeles who was killed by a Weatherman bomb.

After their revolution, Mary Grabar recalls, the Weathermen planned to “order the reeducation of an estimated 100 million Americans and the execution of the estimated 25 million who would resist reeducation.” With that kind of pedigree, no surprise that Kathy Boudin would name her son after Joanne Cheshimard.

You know the drill.

The nuclear threat is back in the news again, and with it I think comes a duty to reckon with what nuclear detonations actually do--not as abstract hypotheticals, but clear and horrifying accounts from our recent past. You’d do well to learn about the Bravo Test, the largest detonation in U.S. history, one which is still hurting the Marshall Islands and the surrounding Pacific some 64 years later. (PS--there is no scenario on earth in which North Korea will launch a first strike against the United States. None. We need to reckon with our own capacity for destruction before worrying about others’.)

We’re a full two weeks and change into the new year, so “end of 2017″ pieces aren’t exactly trendy anymore, but what the hell. Here are two that hit me right in the chest: Bill Ayers’ “So long, 2017″ (”Never for a moment doubt that your life matters, nor that joy in the face of horror can be made into an exuberant act of refusal”) and Anthony Oliveira’s “The Year in Apocalypses.”

Maybe the best and most educational webcomic I’ve ever read: “The Good War,” which dives succinctly into the consequences of our national obsession with reclaiming the glories of WWII. 

Monday was MLK Day, and it’s worth being reminded just how detested--yes, even by (perhaps especially by) liberals--this great and radical man truly was in his own time. 

The liberal demi-god, Barak Hussein Obama, the one who is still worshipped as the coming progressive messiah, is causing some ‘stir’ among the liberal wackos that permeate our airwaves.

O-blame-ya, as I like to call the twit, went off script in Illinois a while back, because he always thought he was super intelligent enough to do so, and said this....

“We’re not, we’re not trying to push financial reform because we begrudge success that’s fairly earned. I mean, I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money. But, you know, part of the American way is, you know, you can just keep on making it if you’re providing a good product or providing good service. We don’t want people to stop, ah, fulfilling the core responsibilities of the financial system to help grow our economy.”

So, my first question...if I were lucky enough to stare puppy man in the face...would be, “Where is the ceiling?” I mean, his ceiling for an hour’s worth of pomposity spewing out of his pie hole is $400,000.00. Is that the ceiling? I mean, I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money. Some of our liberal wacko ‘rulers’ reacted with horror at the amount. Others have defended it. I like to watch them go after each other like rabid dogs when their lord and savior reveals who and what he really is.

The last part of what he said shows his true colors. We live in a capitalist system. People in business are not in business to fulfill a core responsibility of the financial system to help grow our economy. They are in business to help grow their own economy and fulfill a core responsibility to their own livelihood. That part of his statement flies in the face of everything the founders of this country stood for. The individual.

If I start a business, it is to offer a good or service to those who need it and have the ability to pay for it where I make a profit. Period. It is in my best interests to provide a superior good or service, as that will bring in more business, more money and greater profits for me. As my business grows and becomes too much to handle, I then have to hire employees to carry the growing load. I don’t hire them out of my spirit of humanitarianism. I hire them to help me gather more business, more money and more profit. Helping the economy of those I hire is a beneficial by-product of my business.
