How do you feel when you allow yourself to relax? To have a day of fun? ⠀ ⠀ To me, and many of my clients who have struggled with #perfectionism, having a day of pure fun (or even a day of resting due to illness) becomes another way to tear ourselves down. ⠀ ⠀ I have to convince so many clients to start having fun by telling them how beneficial it is for their physical and mental health, how it actually increases our #productivity when we allow ourselves to take breaks, and it makes me laugh. ⠀ ⠀ Here we are, arguing about whether or not we deserve to feel good, whether we’ve done enough to be worthy of a day off. ⠀ ⠀ Guys, this has got to stop. ⠀ ⠀ Of course we need to give ourselves some tough love sometimes and get on track with our priorities and responsibilities. ⠀ ⠀ But we need to allow ourselves to enjoy life! That’s the whole point! If we never allow ourselves to be happy now, only “happy when,” then we will never be happy now. ⠀ ⠀ So give yourself a break! Or at least, the next time you are having some fun, accept it completely, enjoy it, don’t beat yourself up!
