Imam Ibn Kathir رحمه الله said:
"Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamā’ah describe every deed and word not proven from the Sahabah, may Allah be pleased with them, as bid’ah.
If it were good, they would have done it before us, as they did not leave any good deed but they hastened to it."

The deception of Ahl al-Bid'ah
Imām Sa'īd b. al-Musayyib رحمه الله once saw a man praying more than two rak'ah after sunrise, the beginning of fajr, making many bows and prostrations, and so he forbade him.
That man said, “O Abu Muhammad, is Allāh going to punish me for praying?”
Sa'īd said, “No, but He will punish you for contradicting the Sunnah.”

Ibn al-Musayyib, was a senior Tābi'ee [successor of the Sahabas], born in Umar's Khilāfah & married Abū Huraira's daughter [رضي الله عنه]
Shaykh al-Albani رحمه الله writes:
This is one of the superb answers given by Sa'īd b. al-Musayyib رحمه الله. It is a strong weapon against heretics [innovators] who recommend many different types of religious innovation in the name of them being dhikr and prayer. They then criticize the followers of the Sunnah for criticizing them, and accuse them of censuring dhikr and prayer, when in fact [Ahl al-Sunnah-Salafīs] are only criticizing the contravertion of the Sunnah in matters such as dhikr and prayer.
The True Reality of Innovations
Ibn al-Mājishūn reported that he heard (Imām) Mālik say: “He who innovates something in al-Islām while deeming it to be a good innovation has claimed that Muḥammad has betrayed his trust to deliver the message.” وَقَالَ ابْن الْمَاجشون سَمِعت مَالِكًا يَقُول: من ابتدع فِي الْإِسْلَام بِدعَة يَرَاهَا حَسَنَة فقد زعم أَن مُحَمَّدًا خَان الرسَالَة، That is because Allah said: {This day, I have perfected your religion for you} [5:3] لِأَن الله يَقُول: {الْيَوْم أكملت لكم دينكُمْ} al-Shuqayrī, al-Sunan wa ʿl-Mubtadiʿāt 1/6 الشقيري، السنن والمبتدعات ١/٦ https://shamela.ws/book/6884/6 @ilmtest [https://t.me/ilmtest]
Mawlid is a bidaah. Fear Allah and stay away from celebrating or congratulating it.
