All of Genesis reflects the principle of Romans 8:28. But as you study the life of Joseph in depth, you may begin to notice just how striking the ability of God to use all things, even (and especially) evil, for our good and His glory.
Joseph also reflects the persona of Jesus in a way that very few other characters do, even down to minute details.
For instance, both Joseph and Jesus were put in prison along with sinners and Gentiles. Both were put in with/next to 2 sinners, with one being pardoned and the other condemned. (Joseph and the cupbearer and baker of Pharaoh, and Jesus with the 2 on the crosses.)
Both were sold for silver.
Both came from unconventional family stories and had family dysfunction at times.
Both were saviors, with Joseph being the savior of Egypt during the famine, providing bread for the peoples so that they would not starve. Jesus being the savior of the whole world, providing living bread for the peoples so that we would not starve.
So know two things:
Evil done against you will be used mightily if you allow God to use it in return.
Even regular people who never knew Christ in their life can exhibit Christlike behavior, so why can't you, knowing Christ and His life so well?

I started a project called Bible Story Nutshell â short, clear summaries of Bible stories
Hey everyone,
Iâve been working on a project called Bible Story Nutshell. The idea is simple: take the big, sometimes complex stories of the Bible and retell them in a way thatâs short, clear, and easy to rememberâlike putting each story into a ânutshell.â
Why? Because sometimes we need a quick refresher, or a way to introduce others (friends, kids, new believers) to the Bible without overwhelming them. Each post includes:
A concise summary of the story
A bit of historical or spiritual context
A key takeaway for reflection
For example, my latest nutshell is about Tobitâs Early Life (Book of Tobit, Chapter 1) â a story of faith and righteousness during the Assyrian exile.
Iâm sharing these on Tumblr right now, but Iâd love to hear your thoughts:
Would this kind of format be useful for Bible study groups or personal devotion?
Are there particular stories youâd like to see ânutshelledâ?
If youâre curious, you can check it out here: Bible Story Nutshell on Tumblr
Thanks for reading, and Iâd really appreciate any feedback or suggestions!

đ Losing My Mind While God Floods the World... đ
Hey, heretics and truth-seekers! đ Are you ready to dive into one of the most unhinged Bible stories ever told? Spoiler: Itâs not a good look for God. In this weekâs video, I unpack the story of Noahâs Ark and the Great Floodâa tale thatâs equal parts horrifying and absurd.
Hereâs what I cover:
Why God decided to hit âresetâ on humanity (and kill everything else in the process).
How fundamentalist interpretations make this story even wilder.
The moral gymnastics of worshiping a deity who regrets his own creations.
Oh, and my art class trauma processing through flood-themed paintings. đ¨
If youâve ever questioned the âGood Godâ narrative, this oneâs for you. Letâs explore why this story shook my faith and made me rethink everything.
⨠Donât forget to like, comment, and subscribe to join the chaos! Share your own Bible story epiphanies in the commentsâIâd love to hear what made you rethink it all. đŹ
For those who question.
