I try to use highly neutral, objective language to prevent emotional or biased reactions to my posts in the hopes of keeping the focus strictly on their structure.
Jill Said Jack was Acting Brash
We play 'he said she said'
Know it's all views, biases,
Mixes of what is wanted
And a truth we're not sure of.
Claims confuse and warp around
Unclear are certainties to be found
And how we act is harder still
As people understand how they will.
So We ask for more details proof,
Trying to define what's brash or aloof.
But even then nothing is clear
It's the way of the world we fear.

Cognitive Dissonance: Why You Stay in a Job You Hate
Cognitive dissonance describes the tension that arises when behavior and belief do not align. In professional life, this tension often appears quietly. You may feel dissatisfied with your work, yet continue to stay. Instead of changing the situation, the mind adjusts the narrative. Thoughts shift from questioning the job to justifying it. This is not irrational. It is how the brain reduces…
Very general but the experience where if you're perceived as pretty, more people are willing to talk to you, but if you're perceived as ugly, most people look so uncomfortable anytime you approach them.
Basically, "ugliness" being associated with danger while "prettiness" gets equated to perfect innocence.
This is lookism.
This is seen very clearly in court with public cases. When there's a sexual abuser/child predator/mass murderer who looks conventionally attractive, there's loads of people who ask for forgiveness for them. Saying "they're too pretty/handsome to have done that". But when that happens with someone deemed Ugly it's the opposite. It's even commonly said that "Some bad people are so bad that their looks reflect it."
Which is just a wild think to equate looks with rightfulness/goodness. But this biases are also within the jury. And Ugly people end up being statistically more prone to be deemed as guilty.
