this one was pretty fun to do actually (i struggled a bit with yesterday's piece). doing some simple rendering/gradation and playing with colors is nice, yknow? admittedly the "deadline" for posting part kinda dampens my mood a bit, but i will persist,,, i did plan out the vibes ahead of time but no drawings. some of the next ones are trickier,,, and i have stuff to do this week,,,

I feel like im taking this a bit seriously and im pushing how far i can go in a day when i literally just finished my semester (studying animation so i have been drawing a bunch anyway). how do I temper my expectations and not burn out its a miracle im not already burnt out tbh

anyway the promised lore tidbit:

A long time ago, the catastrophic collision of two antithetical forces resulted in a paradoxical anomaly, dubbed by the Archjustice (at the time) the Abstract Storm. The Warden of the Night Sky, Equinox, devised a construct to seal the Abstract Storm away, but it required someone on the inside to deploy it, trapping them inside with the Storm.

Pariah once had a twin, watching over the other moon. They elected to sacrifice themself for the greater good.

To this day, Pariah mourns their loss even though they're not technically dead, just changed and trapped. One of their other common names is Eternal Mourner.

some sketches i made before doing this. Pariah's outfit is in flux so nothing's really final yet, but they probably would have a bunch of different outfits. there's more in the ref boards i made but i only have so. many hours in the day. they gravitate towards looser clothes that covers themself, so i. dont get to draw too much of the gradients and stars i just put there (because of the lore)

the compositional theme was horizontals and verticals, and the whole class i got to draw oc work :D This scene is right after a climax in a specific story that's been in my head for far too long, and Butterfly (guy leaning on the table) is. Exhausted. (plus looming figure trying to offer comfort. not sure if she's succeeding)

plus i had to print these out to show in class bc its digital (unfortunately its not on my wall rn bc i dont have a frame for it)
