Rose: And you know who I blame? I blame that drunk kid who started that fight! That's who I blame!
Jill: We can't use him as a scapegoat for all of our problems.
Rose: Oh honey, we can TRY!
A year ago today the first episode of The Better Strangers was released! Thank you to everyone who watched and enjoyed it.
“Rose, what were you THINKING?!?”
"Ummm,” Rose answered, wincing as she faced her best friend and giving her a bright smile. “Hey, Jill. What’s up?”
“Oh, don’t give me that. I just talked with Oliver.”
Rose grimaced and then said, “Hey, this isn’t all on me! They insulted our abilities! They desecrated the sanctity of our friendship!”
“Okay, Rose. I understand that,” Jill said. “But you know I abhor paintball.”
“Come on.” Rose linked their arms together as they strolled down the hallway of their dorm. “All we’ve done for weeks is study. I can’t take any more. And it’ll be fun.”
“Nuh-uh,” Jill said, rolling her eyes. “Do you remember the last time we played? You hit me on the shoulder and I had a bruise this big.” With her thumb and forefinger, she made a circle and shook it in front of Roses’s face. “And then do you remember what was the next weekend? Waltz. My poor sleeveless dress...”
“Well, you still looked gorgeous.”
“Hey, don’t you weasel out of this with flattery,” Jill admonished. “I’m still annoyed with you about that.”
“That was moths ago. This will be better. And anyway we’ll be on the same team this time.” Rose gave her a beseeching look. “Pleeease. Are you seriously going to let Oliver and Orlando win? Does our friendship mean so little to you?”
“Shut up. You know I love you.”
At Jill’s words, Rose grinned and nudged her in the side. “So... You’ll play then?”
“Oh, alright,” Jill let up with a sigh. A small smirk began spreading across her lips, and she looked over at Rose and said, “Let’s go kick their asses.”
With a triumphant yell, Rose grabbed Jill’s hand and began pulling her down the hall. Laughing, Jill followed Rose’s wild dash the rest of the way to Orlando’s room.
