My thoughts on the situation: Carla is going to get off and I think she is going to get off on a technicality. Because even though she lied in the aftermath, ultimately, she had closed the factory on the day of the accident. If Beth had died then they may have had a case because it meant that Carla would have actually sent someone in there to work knowing the danger. However, it was closed, the workers broke in there illegally and therefore her defence could and should argue that despite knowing the state of the roof, Rana’s death isn’t technically her fault because she had closed it and people were not supposed to be in there. Despite Rana having keys it could be argued Carla would not have foreseen her need to be there because she was expecting Beth to finish the dress and go and give it to Rana. Also, story wise it would work more because Carla being let off means that her breakdown will be even more understandable because she will feel she hasn’t been punished for Rana’s death and also it will fuel Imran’s anger even further. So yeah, that’s what I think anyway. She could still go to prison, but I doubt it.
