Hey everyone🤙🏼, so here is a little bit of what happened today..Marissa and I have started our Dive Master (DM) program recently and decided to get our wreck specialty course done since it'll help with the DM course. We are doing our check out dives tomorrow but decided to come to Key Largo today and do some diving. We finally made it to Key Largo but got stuck in traffic on US1 for over an hour. A big reason we wanted to do some diving today is because Marissa got a new Scubapro Hydros Pro BCD and she wanted to try it out before doing wreck dives tomorrow. She's been using a Scubapro Ladyhawk for a good while but we decided it was time for her to get something new. However, when you're using a new BCD, your weights can be different and the first few times it can feel uncomfortable. Unfortunately, all dive shops were full and we got to Key Largo too late to even dive at Jules because they were closing in 45 minutes.... We asked if Marissa could just spend 20 or 30 minutes in the water, just to see how she feels with the hydros pro. Sadly, Jules said no and that they close in 45 minutes and would have to charge us full price. We ended up stopping off at Quiescence Diving Services and telling them about our frustrating situation. Without hesitation, the staff at Quiescence said "let's see if we can figure something out!" Not only did they help Marissa get in the water, but Adam (one of their dive instructors) took time away from his busy schedule to help Marissa with her weights and BCD. He was giving her tips about weight orientation, helping her make sure she was properly weighted, helping her with frog-kicks, overall just making sure she was comfortable with the new BCD and ready for tomorrow. With Adam's help, Marissa was able to drop weight, practice kicks for wreck penetration and ultimately get comfortable in her new BCD. We literally cannot say enough about the amazing people at Quiescence. They do truly go above and beyond and don't treat you like clients but instead treat you like friends.
