A delicious fusion of two traditional berry flavors is present in this homemade Blackberry Strawberry Jam. It is ideal for spreading on your favorite breakfast foods or using as a filling for pastries and desserts because it is sweet with a hint of tartness.
Ingredients: 2 cups blackberries. 2 cups strawberries. 3 cups granulated sugar. 1 lemon juiced. 1/4 cup water.
Instructions: Wash and hull the strawberries, then chop them into small pieces. Combine the blackberries, chopped strawberries, and lemon juice in a large pot. Add water to the pot and simmer the fruits over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the granulated sugar until it's completely dissolved. Increase the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently. Boil the jam for 10-15 minutes or until it thickens, skimming off any foam that forms on the surface. To test the jam's readiness, place a small amount on a chilled plate. If it wrinkles when touched, it's ready. Remove the pot from heat and let the jam cool for a few minutes. Carefully transfer the jam into clean, sterilized jars, leaving about 1/4 inch of headspace at the top. Seal the jars tightly and process them in a hot water bath for 10 minutes to ensure safe preservation. Allow the jars to cool to room temperature before labeling and storing in a cool, dark place. Enjoy your homemade Blackberry Strawberry Jam on toast, biscuits, or as a delightful topping!
