“The bluish-colored crystals shown above are benitoite, a very rare barium titanium silicate mineral (BaTiSi3O9) known principally from San Benito County, California. Large, gem-quality crystals that have been cut, faceted, and polished have the 'fire' of diamond (same index of refraction), but have a lovely deep blue color.”
Awwww
So cuteee

Benitoite is an extremely rare barium titanium cyclosilicate gemstone, designated as California's official state gem in 1985. Known as the "blue diamond" for its intense blue color and high brilliance, it was discovered in 1907 in San Benito County, California. Ranging from colorless to deep blue or violet, it typically exhibits strong fluorescence under UV light and is highly prized by collectors due to its rarity.
Benitoite
Benitoite is an ice blue colour going from almost colourless to a variety of shade of blue. It is a fairly uncommon/rare gemstone with only one mining location known for having gem-quality stones, (able to be used in jewellery and such) but there is also around 20 localities where it has been found. Being California as well as other locations around America and at times, Japan. It’s mostly a piece that collectors strive to have with not many having interest outside of that, when there is interest this gem has a hardness of 6.5 so having a protective setting applied to the gem before is recommended. This gem was discovered in 1907 in San Benito County, California by James Marshall Crouch. Reports say that “he stumbled on a small area literally littered with myriad small dark blue crystals” close by to the side of San Benito River. Which he then collected a small amount of to take back and send off to be checked and analysed by a professor of mineralogy at the California university by the name of Dr. George Louderback. After discovering it was a new mineral Dr. George Louderback chose to name it after the location it was found which is why it is called Benitoite. Benitoite symbolises creativity, consciousness and truth. It is heavily associated with the third eye “chakra”/energy source. This information is not my own nor are the images, I am not an expert. It was all found from various websites. If this actually gets seen feel free to ask for the websites I use and I will comment all the links. Please let me know if any information is incorrect and provide links to resources if possible :)
