This is a minimalist illustration series. The name stands for the art that shows the folks and folklores of Bengal, A province located in India. These are mainly some characters taken from the pearl like stories delving deep into an oceanic entity called Bengali Culture. My own culture. The character Shakuntala carries an age old story from the Purana. Bonobibi and Dakkhin Rai are actually two provider and protector gods of the Sundarbans, whereas Dakkhin Rai is the mythological name of the great Royal Bengal Tiger. And Baul is actually a community of Bengal with their own form of music and culture. What I tried here is to give an homage to my motherland of Bengal.

‘যারা জেগে থাকে’ নাটকটি দেখলাম কাল সন্ধ্যেয়। অনেকদিন পর কোন নাটক দেখে মনে হল ঠকিনি। আসলে এ বাংলায় থিয়েটারের লোকজনই থিয়েটার আর যাত্রার পার্থক্য বোঝে না। থিয়েটার আর সিরিয়ালের পার্থক্য বোঝে না। ঢের ভালো প্রচেষ্টা এটা। আবহ সংগীত মনে থেকে যাবে। মেক আপ খুব খারাপ। কোরাসের অভিনয় আর ভালো হতে পারত। কিছু জায়গায় কম্পোজিশান আরও ভালো হতে পারত। শেষের আগের দিকটা আরও গোছানো যেত। অনেক দৃশ্য অপ্রয়োজনীয়। দৈর্ঘ্যের মেদ কিছুটা কমানো যেত। কিন্তু এতগুলো খামতি নিয়েও বক্তব্য ঠিক পরিস্কার। এখানেই ইম্পারফেক্ট আর্ট পারফেক্টলি ‘জেগে থাকে’ দর্শকের মনে।
