I’ve been seeing so much of romanticization of Oregon lately so this is my reminder
And guys I can’t emphasize this enough, but don’t move to Oregon, first of all it’s not the romanticized version you see online, it’s very trumpy, insanely expensive, and seasonal depression is really bad here, not only that but people moving from out of state is ruining our economy and causing the cost of living to skyrocket, making it so that people born and raised here can’t afford to live here anymore. Please Visit Oregon tho! Tourism is what keeps so much of our state afloat, especially on the coast, stay in hotels and inns not airbnbs and support local businesses, follow leave no trace when visiting nature, and make sure to listen to locals when they tell you things to check out, and things to avoid!
How to describe it ...
Yet another label for Lord Huron’s music: “Cinematic, vaguely Southwestern-flavored folk-rock …”
That one - not entirely off the mark, I must say - comes from a writer for the Bulletin in Bend, Oregon, where the Bubs played the Hayden Homes Amphitheater a few nights ago as part of their 2026 summer tour.
With another 30-plus shows coming up, who knows how many new labels may emerge …?
The Bulletin writer did some research and seemed to surprise himself.
“Lord Huron,” he wrote, “has just over 24 million monthly listeners on Spotify. That’s a couple million more than Bruce Springsteen, nearly 10 million more than John Mayer and more than twice as many as Phoebe Bridgers…”
The Bubs play Cheyenne, Wyoming Tuesday night; then, the sacred ground of Red Rocks on Wednesday.
Greetings from Pyongyang.
Only a quick update. The Supreme Leader has once again revoked my internet privileges. He knows I'm up to something.
Unfortunately, morale has been low in the palace as of late. The Supreme Leader has been in a foul mood ever since Putin, Trump, Persia, and several lesser dictators began monopolizing the news cycle. One cannot blame him. It is difficult to maintain a cult of personality when everyone else insists on generating headlines.
There is now discussion of launching something in the general direction of Japan. Purely for public relations purposes, of course.
If communications cease, assume I have been reassigned to agricultural excellence.
Please continue supporting my latest work. Every copy sold brings me one step closer to a commercial flight out of Pyongyang.

In fish news today, a tanker truck with 100k+ Chinook salmon smolts crashed and flipped into the Lookingglass creek, however over 75K LIVED and were just inadvertently released into the creek! see you in a few years when they return to the crash site to spawn!
The driver is okay!
Born and raised Oregonians, a friend of mine once joked with me that Gravity Falls seems to just have straight up replaced Bend in its universe (though my headcanon is that Bend is simply the closest major city to Gravity Falls)
So when I heard about this story (admittedly a bit late to it), I just couldn’t help myself…
Because they would. You know they would
Bonus:
I ordered the t-shirt, the keychain, and the pin, and they threw in a sticker for free! I loved going to Blockbuster as a kid. I'm sure I would have hated them as an adult, knowing how they drove smaller chains out of business and destroyed the movie rental industry, but nostalgia is a hell of a drug. I've never been to the Last Blockbuster, but I have a cousin in California who might be getting married soon, and some friends in Washington state, so if I fly out there I'll be sure to visit Bend, Oregon on the side. I will always prefer physical media over streaming. My DVD collection is robust (my VHS collection used to be, but they all got tape mold so I had to leave them in storage because I didn't have the heart to throw them away...)
