“where do you feel you have taken another step forward if possible compared to the other years?”
lando: “i think there's two things. one is just my ability to adapt to more situations, read situations better. from like how to drive these cars this year and understand the tyres, the car, the balance, drive a car that i don't like as much. you become just more capable of driving in different situations. and i think that comes with experience, that comes with just more laps, more times driving and trying different things, acknowledging different things.
but two, also just becoming more relaxed and more confident in myself. i've always been a driver who, even since i was a kid, i always had to prove things to myself for me to really believe in them. i was never the person who would wake up and believe it before i ever did it. so i wouldn't wake up in the morning and go 'today i'm gonna win the race.' i would wake up and go 'okay, i need to try and win the race today' and i'll do what i can to win the race. if i then won the race, that gives me the confidence and i'm like 'okay, i can do it again' and then i go from there.
but certainly not the opposite way around where i'm over confidence, i let myself down and then it kind of has a bad effect. so, i kind of always set myself up to fail. but then over exceed my own expectations and that's something i've almost enjoyed doing in my career and i've never let myself down because of it.
but now i just get to, i think, have the confidence in myself because of the result last year, that i'm like 'well, now i won a world championship, i can do it again' and i think that's a very very powerful thought to have inside."

WHO DARED TO SAY SOMETHING SO TRUE AND SO POETIC ????
Sir Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button at the Belgian Grand Prix (2014)
Interviewer: Do you feel the championship is over? Prost: Yes. I think it’s over. I mean, there’s no point to believe I can win all the races. Ayrton is very quick, even more motivated than he was at the beginning of the year, so there’s no reason… I’m not stupid (laughs). Interviewer: And not disappointed either, it appears? Prost: No, it’s even better! (Senna laughs) Because we have less pressure. I mean, I’m quite happy for him, he’s a nice guy, he’s a fantastic driver, he deserves to be world champion at least once. He’s going to be this year, and then we have both less pressure from the media and from everybody and it’s going to be good! Senna: More fun next year! Prost: Hein? Senna: You’re going to be more fun next year! Prost: (laughs) Exactly, more fun next year! We’re going to work together at the end of the year, try to improve the atmospheric engine, and it’s good to have a good relationship in the team. We’re part of a fantastic environment with McLaren and Honda engine. I mean, it’s not only our fight, you know? You also have to think about the other people working in the factory, and for them it’s also fantastic. I’ve been twice world champion and if I became three time world champion this year on luck by winning some races like Monaco for example, I think it won’t be good. I prefer it like this, it’s the correct logic.

I don't want to be negative about George's current position in Mercedes, but I feel like I'm seeing the parallels I've seen before with Lewis, and I hate this.
