Every time I step into a store, I have to be aware of where my hands are. I don’t want to give employee’s a reason to think I am stealing.
Then there are the times, when you walk into a store and you are not greated or asked if you need help, but the white person that walks in behind you, gets all the attention and help.
I have been told, while being rang up, “Sorry, I thought you were just browsing, I didn’t know you were going to buy. Did you find everything ok?” So, basically I “didn’t look” like someone that could afford this store.
What goes to your head when shopping?
