Both were lightened with same lightener: blondor and 30 volume. As you can see the virgin hair lifted beautifully, a gorgeous and even canvas. (I’m calling it virgin, but the ends were previously lightened. The new growth that I lightened was virgin) Notice how uneven and brassy the previously colored hair is? This client has what we call “banding” due to color buildup and will need multiple sessions to get to a bright blonde. I use these visuals to educate my clients so they understand that while I’m doing my best to achieve their hair goals, sometimes the hair won’t allow it. If you are working with a stylist and you feel like it’s taking forever to get to your goal, just know that these situations are common! (And frustrating, we understand.) Trust your stylist and the process.
