Do you have any tips for beginner writiers who want to write fanfiction??
Just found this in my inbox among the requests...
My tips are:
*honestly to practice, practice, practice... nobody is perfect and not even my writing is always good despite the fact that I've been writing for over a decade... So don't let that pull you back from trying if you really have a desire to write... With time comes experience, and you'll feel it come on easier once you've written a couple of fics, the words come naturally...
*Figure out the biggest reason why youre doing it, and let that kinda lead you... If you're doing it for yourself, to express yourself through writing, let that be the guide...
*Don't worry too much about likes or comments, sure, pay attention to constructive criticism and learn from it, but don't pay attention to the trolls and haters... Everyone is bound to find an audience, but if it doesn't happen immediately, that doesn't mean your writing is bad... These things take time and the number of likes doesn't determine how good your work is, maybe that one like is from a person who thouroughly enjoyed your work and rereads it multiple times...
*Proof-read your work... We are our own biggest critics and I know I personally always find things I could have added in a fic or what I could have written differently, so take time to read through your work, and you'll catch those little areas you might feel the need to fix... Or find someone you trust to read your writing and give you their advice (always feel free to send your work to me, and I'll be happy to read it and let you know my thoughts, always honestly and from the heart)
*and please, please, have fun with it... Don't let it become a chore or something that you HAVE to do... Do it because you want to, because it fullfils you, not because you feel forced to do so... Letting it become a chore will take all of the joy out of it, so if you need to, step away from your writing for some time, days even, and come back to it when you're ready... Never worry what will happen if you suddenly feel the need to stop writing or take a break, we're all human, and maybe that inspiration will come back, maybe not, but put your health first... It goes back to making it a chore, if it feels difficult and it's impacting your health, give yourself time to heal, to assess the situation calmly...
*Writers block comes and goes, it's normal... If you experience it, step away from your work and go outside for a walk or something, or do something else that you like and that fulfils you... Don't stress over it, just let it pass, inspiration can strike in moments you least expect it to...
*oh, and also, read... It doesn't have to be a lot, but grab a book or even open your favorite Tumblr writers blog and read through their work... You don't have to read constantly, but just enough to get inspired by what you're reading and let it help you find your own style of writing... it might be in a form of a phrase, or the sentence structure, or something else, but let it inspire you, let it somewhat guide you, while you slowly build your own style....
That's what I could think of off the top of my head, I'll edit this post if i think of another thing to add, but I hope it helps anyone who wants to write, but is nervous about starting... Again, always feel free to reach out to me, for me to read your work and give you advice, you don't have to take it, or do, it's up to you... Or reach out to me for simple tips on how I write certain scenes or genres, how I make things angsty or fluffy, how I find inspiration, or specific ways I deal with writers block or anxiety about posting a fic... never give up if it's someting you really want to do, but if it becomes more than you can handle, take a step back and assess if it's still what you want :)
I hate how she turned out🙃 but I genuinly didn't know how was i supposed to do with her fuvkahh bob but I made it work (?)

A drawing from early September vs. drawings from early December.
The first one is so ugly wthhh BUT I THINK I'M MAKING PROGRESS. It's not perfect, I know. My character's face in the first one still looks... odd. But I'm struggling with faces. Today I did the second one, quickly, and I really like it. Especially the hair. I'm thinking of coloring it and making an avatar out of it
Guysss, just made my first crochet creation!!!
It looks very bad but I'm very noob so yeah!!I LOVED IT!!
