My Friend, My Roommate, My Heart Chapter 7/30
Please see here for Chapter 1 and fic description :)
The announcement for the game starting soon played over the speakers and the crowd started to shift; people heading toward the stadium. Daisy locked eyes with Hyunjin, lifting her brows in question. He nodded and she grinned. Chris was nearby and laughed as Felix looked puzzled.
“Come on, mate; we’ll see them later,” he said knowingly and steered him away.
Daisy chuckled as she watched Felix watching the friend group in confusion as they all bid her and Hyunjin goodbye like it was normal. And it was. Neither of them cared about sports really, they were here for the vibes. They walked together to the truck and Hyunjin boosted her up into the cab before hoisting himself up as well. She crawled in more and fluffed up the pillows just right. He laid back and she went into the crook of his arm. He pulled the covers up and both of them wiggled a bit in a happy cozy dance, settling in.
“What do you want to watch? P-”
“Ride and Prejudice,” they said together.
“Obviously,” she finished and he laughed.
He hummed her favorite melody from the movie as he pulled it up on his phone and she closed her eyes, head and hand on his chest, feeling the rumble and listening to the tune. She was super drunk but not to the point of everything spinning when she closed her eyes and she was thankful for that. Hyunjin’s giant hand splayed on her waist and he held the phone up with his other hand as the movie started, but Daisy was already falling asleep.
☀☀☀
Cozy. Warm. Blissful. That’s how Daisy felt when she became aware again. The next sensation was still pleasant but…heavy? She stirred - or tried to, at least - then cracked open her eyes. She was surrounded on all sides and then some. Hyunjin was still beside her with his arm around her, his fingers lax on her side. On his other side, also on his back, was Han; his mouth hanging open as he slept. His legs were parted and Lee Know lay between them on his tummy, his arms wrapped around Han’s waist and his head on Han’s belly, like Han was his own personal pillow. Behind her, also with his arm around her waist, was Chris. His face was buried in her hair and spooning Chris was Changbin.
She carefully lifted her head and saw Seungmin was also awake. He sat with his back against the side of the truck bed, scrolling on his phone. Jeongin’s head lay in his lap and Felix was curled up beside him, by everyone’s feet. She couldn’t help but smile. She’d never been one before for physical touch; Josh had even actually complained all the time that she didn’t touch him enough. But since she’d grown close with these boys, skinship had become a regular part of her life. She was constantly being touched on the daily and eventually, she started touching others more and more as well. She always had to remind herself when she was with other people that not everyone was like that; she’d gone from one end of the spectrum to the other in extremes, much like everything else she did.
Seungin noticed her and raised a hand, giving a gun-shaped finger salute. She smiled and waved back, then pointed at Jeongin on his lap. He gave a dramatic sigh and looked at her like he was over it and she giggled but she knew he loved them all just as much as they loved him. She felt Hyunjin move when she giggled. His arm tightened around her then she lifted up so he could pull it out. He gave a big stretch and opened his eyes too.
“Hello,” he greeted her when he noticed she was awake too. Then he looked around and saw the others, “Oh!”
“You were snoring so loud,” Seungmin deadpanned at Hyunjin, not bothering to look up from his phone.
“No,” Jinnie scoffed. When Seungmin nodded distractedly, Hyunjin pouted, “Seungmin, you’re lying. What’s your problem?”
“Huh?” Seungmin said, still not looking up from his phone.
Hyunjin sat up and pulled a pillow out from behind him then chucked it at Seungmin, who watched lazily as it flew over and hit Felix instead. He gave a little hoarse yell and bolted awake. His face was so funny and his hair was so fluffy that Daisy couldn’t help but lose it. She laughed and laughed, Hyunjin joining in. Felix gave a pout of his own once he’d woken up enough to process everything and hurled the pillow right back. It whacked Lee Know in the back of the head and all the color drained from Felix’s face as his mouth dropped open. Daisy’s hands flew to her mouth and Hyunjin gasped.
Lee Know’s head slowly turned, reminding Daisy of The Exorcist, and he fixed Felix with a stare that had no right being that terrifying for someone who just woke up and also looks quite cute and fluffy. Felix let out a squeak that was surprisingly high pitched and wiggled himself off the bed of the truck. Lee Know was on the move, too. He extracted himself from the pile of bodies and followed to the ground. Felix was already running away and he was quite fast. Lee Know only walked calmly over to a table, picked up one of the Nerf guns, and pointed it. He pulled the trigger and seconds later, Felix yelped as it got him in the throat.
Daisy, Hyunjin, and Seungmin all burst out in laughter and Seungmin even clapped. Lee Know turned to them and bowed, lifting himself back up with a grin. Felix loped back into the fray, holding the dart, and Lee Know slung an arm over his shoulder. Daisy shook her head. Oh to be a simple boy in a simple boy friendship. Their laughter and movement woke the rest of the group and they got to work packing everything up. It had been a great day. Until Daisy checked her email.
