Did you project a negative attribute on her? Did you conclude that she’s looking for attention? Did you doubt her knowledge on any subject? Did you assume she isn’t drinking what’s in her glass? Did you reassure yourself that you are better than her? Did you let her existence make you feel less than? Did you question her right to be here? • Maybe it was the way she’s dressed or how she wears her hair. Maybe it was the way she’s posing, sticking her leg out like that. Maybe it was the fact that she’s a woman in a male-dominated space. Maybe it was society’s message that we are in competition with each other. Maybe it was our own insecurities. Maybe it was her insecurities. Or maybe you didn’t question her at all.
