Harley had a pretty unmistakable look—the hair, the color of her skin—her tattoos. But there was one thing that didn’t follow her around anymore. At least… not as a partner. Jessica didn’t want to say his name (didn’t want to accidentally summon him to their location by giving him more than a passing thought). Jessica wondered if Harley recognized her or if she had spent so much time glowing green that no one knew it was her underneath it all without a direct confession.
“I, uh,” Jessica fumbled, looking at the box that had been left from the previous shift. A bunch of products that needed to be lined on the walls or put in the back as overstock. “You know what?” Jessica offered her a smile, nodding her head. “Sure. I can pay you back with a drink?”
