Peppered Steak Delight This savory slow cooker dish features tender beef sirloin combined with colorful bell peppers and a rich gravy, perfect for serving over rice or noodles. Ingredients 2 tablespoons cooking oil 2 lbs beef sirloin cut into 1? strips garlic powder to taste salt and black pepper to taste 1 green pepper sliced into long slices 1 red pepper sliced into long slices 1 onion chopped or sliced into long slices 14.5 oz. diced tomatoes (do not drain) Gravy 1/4 cup hot water 1 cube beef bouillon 1 tablespoon cornstarch 3 tablespoons soy sauce 1 teaspoon sugar Instructions To begin, sear the beef in a large skillet. Heat the cooking oil and add the beef sirloin strips. Season with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook over medium-high heat until browned on both sides, then transfer the beef to the bottom of the slow cooker. Next, prepare the bell peppers and onions. Slice the green and red peppers, as well as the onion, into long strips. Add these vegetables to the slow cooker on top of the beef. Open the can of diced tomatoes and pour it into the slow cooker, mixing all the ingredients together. For the gravy, mix the hot water with the beef bouillon in a small bowl until dissolved. If using powdered bouillon, it will dissolve more easily. Incorporate the cornstarch into the hot beef broth, whisking until smooth, then pour this mixture over the ingredients in the slow cooker. Add the soy sauce and sugar, and stir everything well. Cover the slow cooker with a lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. Before serving, give the peppered steak a good mix and serve it over steamed white rice or egg noodles.
