the story is told from the perspective of Tomo, an elementary school 5th grader, who lived together with her mother until one day her mother suddenly disappears. left all on her own, Tomo moves in with her uncle, Makio, but unlike previous visits to her uncle’s house, Makio now lives with his girlfriend, Rinko, who is the first trans woman that Tomo has ever met.
