Jon Stewart took aim at Donald Trump’s rapidly shrinking Freedom 250 concert on Monday’s Daily Show.
After NBC News reported that six of the original nine acts had dropped out over political concerns, Stewart summed up the situation by asking “Is anyone still performing?”
“Everybody dropped out, but not Vanilla Ice,” Stewart joked. “He saw a problem, and yo, he solved it.”
Meanwhile, Trump has suggested he wants to cancel the event altogether, although it’s not entirely clear whether he meant the entire concert series or just the shows that lost performers. Either way, Freedom 250 has managed to become one of the few festivals where the lineup seems to get smaller every time you check it.
At this point, the concert celebrating America’s 250th birthday is starting to look like one of those old telethons where the host keeps assuring everyone that more stars are on the way.
