The word "hindrance" according to Webster's dictionary is: a person or thing that interferes with or slows the progress of someone or something.  And I made it my business to never be a hindrance to others, however, I was not quite compensated the way I should have been.  Trying not to be a hindrance to others has hindered me... in a plethora of ways.  Too many to name honestly.   Trying to please everyone will quickly put you in bondage and you will find yourself unfulfilled, unsatisfied, and unhappy. 

I had to learn that not everyone will be satisfied and trying to please everyone is impossible.  I also had to learn that some people just want to be dissatisfied so they can find someone or something to blame so they can continue to complain about everything and everyone.  Its actually quite sad and a miserable life to live.  I was surrounded by these type of people at a point in my life and I too became miserable because I felt like I was always walking on eggshells.  I tried so hard not to offend anyone that I just stopped being me.  I used to be carefree.  I used to laugh a lot... even at things that I probably should not have laughed at haha.  I began to miss that person I once was and had to do a re-evaluation of my life and relationships.  I realized that trying not to make mistakes is a mistake within itself and that mistakes help me to grow and cultivate the gifts, talents, and abilities that were given to me.  Holding back who I am for the sake of not holding back the person(s) around me wasn't fair to me.  Nor is it fair to those that may look to me for inspiration.  

No one is perfect!  My trials and errors may help someone learn what not to do and being afraid to make the errors will leave you stagnant in so many areas.  So word of advice... do not dim your light just so you won't outshine others.  It does not help anyone and you will become bitter because of it.  Shine!
