i know i made an uber long post about beakley and scrooge during "the last crash" i cannot understate that i love their relationship. i think i brought up their other episodes too. i can't find it on my blog so it's probably privated somewhere aough but i WILL find it.
i think people have varying degrees of takes on how close beakley and scrooge really are but i lean towards closer than you expect. even if beakley chose to take solace under his roof because of other reasons you can't tell me the biggest factor of that isn't that she trusted him and believed in him. i think she tries to keep things professional but 1) during "the first adventure" they were already close enough that scrooge took HER advice and HER recommendation in picking out his right hand man in business; and 2) she came to scrooge for help at the lowest point of his life where he was so alone. duckworth had died and della got lost and donald left and took the kids with him and you can't tell me she also didn't want to keep him company in that big empty house of his. yes she did tell webby to leave him alone but i feel that's her attempt at keeping them at a certain distance still. don't get too close. a job is still a job after all.
despite beakley's level-headed grandma-ness she can be a little silly with it. don't you want a woman who is built like a truck and was the former director of a spy agency and loves cosplaying and LARPing as the duckverse equivalent of batman. yeah you heard me.
