"Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It's the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul."
Amy Collette
.
I don't believe joy can be found without gratitude.
You can't enjoy a warm bath without appreciating the warm water. You can't enjoy a sunny day without appreciating the sun.
Learn to find gratitude in everything, the joy it unlocks is amazing!
~Blessings~Courtney
I gotta admit that I miss my lake... I love my new home, but I miss the lake and the animals very much. My neighbor is feeding the animals for me so I'm very happy about that. The little park around the corner brings Petey and I great joy every day... it's just gonna take a little more time to get used to not having that lake in my backyard and not hanging out with the birds and squirrels every day. I went from the wide open spaces to a small, fenced yard surrounded by houses... it's a big change. On the very, very bright side, Petey loves having her own backyard so I'm good with all of this change. When Petey is happy, I'm happy!!! I think we're going to have to venture out this weekend and go somewhere amazing and look at the water there. That will soothe my soul, in a big way!! Life is what you make it, and I tend to be grateful for what I have and to find the joy and beauty in what's around me, as much as possible. I'm very thankful that I got to live in a house with a lake in my backyard. That's a great gift!!! I'm gonna take pictures of a place that's just as beautiful near here this weekend and focus on that. That will help a lot. I'm looking forward to doing that very much. Until then, I'll continue to go to the park and skip through the trees with Petey, while we listen to the birds there... tra la la la la la la.... 😁😁🐕🌲🌲🌲🌲🐾🏡🥳🎊🎉🌞🙏🏼🐦🎶

3 under-appreciated dkbkdk authors on ao3
these are my favorite authors who's bakudeku fics i adore. all of these authors are such great writers too; the characterization, the imagery, the cuteness. and most of their fics don't have a lot of hits, so i wanted to make an appreciation post to show some love for them, as well as to share them with others who might never had come across these authors :)
derDschungelderRosen : they have written the cutest, sweetest, most in love dkbkdk stories i've ever been blessed with. they write aus, quirk accidents, the fluffiest smut, and they just finished a long fic about ram-hybrid izuku and hunter katsuki. the emotion and feels in it had me non-stop crying
Sifl : their bakudeku fics really make my brain work. their scene-setting, descriptors, and characterizations never leave my head. they also are really great at immersing you in japanese culture (i really appreciate this because i feel a lot of authors americanize bakugo and izuku a little much for me)
Yinera : this author writes gen/teen dkbkdk stories that are on the shorter side. they wrote a really cute au about katsuki having a little brother; the two fics in this series are so cute
after whiskey, saint anthony always gets mean : written by ArsenicInYourPudding, this is an honorable mention because i haven't read any of their other fics as of yet. it's whumpy, it's short, and the feels are real
these wonderful authors (and every other author on ao3) choose to share their stories just to be kind, and i think some people forget that; they write for fun, not to be graded, or judged, or criticized.
if you have the time to read their stories, then you have the time to write a simple comment too; at least a thank you for sharing, telling them your favorite part, or saying how much you enjoyed their story. a couple sentences don't take that much time to type, and i know they will deeply appreciate it. (please don't rate their fics, or give them a "grade". you aren't their teacher, you are a reader who is lucky to have so many wonderful stories of your favorite characters to read at your leisure.)
and if you're someone who feels like you have too much to say about a fic, don't be scared to just type out your reactions to your favorite lines/moments. most of the times i've left a long comment on a fic, authors are incredibly grateful to receive such a thoughtful response.
thank you for reading <3
