A Purposeful Avoidance? (Elemental headcanon)
>A headcanon of mine for the collective elementals is their inability to speak Malay! (Or rather, a fear of)
Let's not get into the specifics of why they only understand English--let's focus on the angst, baby!
They can't speak Malay (as previously stated), despite the fact that their master and companions speak Malay as their mother tongue. That was the norm among them for a long while.
It changed when the Kokotaim gang subtly-not-so-subtly asked why they never spoke Malay with them. It was painfully obvious that it was a purposeful avoidance from the elementals, especially when they replied exclusively in English despite being spoken to in Malay. (Most of the time, they tried not to listen to conversation held in Malay, it was obviously not for their ears to hear.)
They gave no answers to the gang whenever they asked.
In the very beginning, communication between the Kokotaim gang and elementals were rough. The young gang's English were limited, and the elemental didn't even know the existence of the Malay language until Boboiboy became their wielder.
They caught bits and pieces of the language now--six years will give you that. (they learned a lot about humans during this time too, their language and culture and odd biology compared to them and other aliens throughout the galaxy--though, that's a post for another day.)
They were even able to understand a full conversation between the Kokotiam gang, and the only way they really knew and realized that was because Gempa ended up lightly scolding the gang for using curse words.
The surprise was impossible to miss among the gang. Sure, they were scolded. But they were scolded because Gempa understood.
Despite the ear twist Boboiboy received--he was openly very happy for Gempa and went rambling on in Malay, forcing Gempa to ask him to slow down because it wasn't like Gempa understood a lot.
Just the little things, things repeated by the gang, that they picked up the meaning over time.
Then the question came again; "Why don't you try speaking it?"
Why?
They never knew they were allowed to, a fear of sort holds them back. An inferiority.
Slowly, very slowly, they try familiarizing those words on their tongue. Sometimes, one of them would get caught by the Kokotaim- mumbling some words under their breath whenever they catch drift of them in a conversation between the Kokotaim. The Kokotaim gang never say anything, of course--they bit their tongue so they wouldn't accidentally scare the elementals off.
They still don't speak Malay, not due to a lack of understanding (though, that is too, a partial reason), but due to their feelings of staying inferior towards their wielders, due to their fear of getting too familiar, too comfortable--forgetting their place as elementals to be used to their wielders' liking.
Nowadays, they mostly listen in on conversations, but sometimes--the gang will hear Halilintar trying to take an order--speaking to an older grandmother who wants a hot cup of cocoa in bits of Malay and English.
Sometimes, they hear Solar quietly correcting a grammatical mistake made by the other elementals.
Sometimes they hear Gempa softly whispering the meaning to certain words to elementals that haven't caught onto it yet.
Sometimes.
Only sometimes.
The Kokotaim gang is proud of their elementals anyway, especially Boboiboy. How could he not be proud?

Animy art
As much as I genuinely hype about BM 3...
I... Honestly upset after what they did in Baraju.
Again not only they somehow broke their own rules of the cause & effect with Oboi's long split or making fusion in comics ver.
In tv ver, instead of fixing it, they perfected it and gave the new design with their 3rd tier of Ice & Blaze. WHICH IT HAPPENED FREAKING TWICE AFTER TWO FUSIONS.
Like, TF?
Bro, we literally got Oboi on the verge of faint when the elementals finally recombined.
But noooooooo, in the name of bullshit reason from Monsta, they came up with this:
And we still get Gentar in the last ep???
Then this reason??????
Isn't that....
THE WHOLE POINT OF GUR'LATAN'S ARC??????
My head was filled with confusion, baffled, and lost at the same time.
Kok malah mereka yang mutusin sendiri kek gimana Allahuakbar....
