Battlefield 2 | 2023 Trailer
フライトシムで遊んでいるとBattlefield 2 (BF2) のことを思い出します。 大人数お祭りFPSですが、乗り物などシミュレーション面も優れていました。 そして当時乗り物が上手だった方々は、シム愛好家（の卵）ではないかと。 BF2で身につけた技術がその後どのように役立ったか振り返ってみます。 要約: BF2の経験はリアル系・シミュレータでも通用します （※画像は借り物です）
分隊・司令
BFシリーズの特徴は分隊システムです。 分隊長から分隊員がリスポーンするため、分隊長の生存率が勝利の鍵です。 「いかに生き残るか」考えつつ「拠点奪取に貢献するか」を学べました。 その後も同じシステムを採用するRed Orchestra 2/Rising Stormで役立ちました。 また分隊を統括する司令官も重要な存在です。 偵察機・砲撃のタイミングや分隊への指示が勝敗を大きく左右します。 第1分隊長（最も上手）にしごかれ「祖母の方がマシなコマンダー」を卒業しました。 Rising Stormで再び指揮しましたが、サポート役に徹することで連戦連勝でした。
戦車戦
歩兵と戦車の協同もBFシリーズの特徴です。 陸戦の王者たる戦車をいかに攻撃/温存するかが拠点奪取の要です。 「ハルダウン」「弱点部位の攻撃」「生存の重要性」を学びました。 その後Red Orchestraシリーズで偵察や装甲圧活用の重要性も習得できました。 Red Orchestra2の10月工場で赤軍をIV号戦車1台で足止めできたのが誇りです。 非リアル系ですが、World of TanksやWar Thunderでも役立っています。
戦闘機・ヘリ
BF2demoではジェット戦闘機が戦場の華でした。 海岸への着上陸を目指すボート・ヘリは戦闘機の格好の標的です。 とはいえ素人操縦では即墜落が関の山で、自由自在だったのは一握りでした。 私も下手の横好きで「空母発着艦」をマウス・キーボードで練習しました。 今にして思うと狂気の沙汰ですが、DCS Worldでも通用したのは棚ぼたでした。 ヘリの「ホバリング」も練習し、Rising Storm2やGTA Onlineで操縦しています。 その後IL-2で零戦も操縦しましたが、あれほど楽な機体は他に無さそうです。
