How to Make Classes more Flexible
Ok, quick heads up: I am not into games like Call of Duty, or Battlefield, I just hear a lot of the specialist and classes criticisms. So please, if you know more, please reblog and include your thoughts (constructive please), I would value that very much and would help a lot.
Ok, so people have a lot of criticisms about the 2042 lack of specialists, how it allows more freedom, less identity, which means less need for teamwork. So, here’s my thought: an option for visual shorthand.
Not limiting the weapons or tools directly or even indirectly, but having outfits that show what the player does in terms of gameplay. Not to make them a certain class, but to show their playstyle. For example, a frontman, a person who likes doing the first attack? Bright clothes, super obnoxious colors. The medic? Red and white clothes. The tank? Super bulky armor. Not limiting tools, which means each visual shorthand can have different tools and weapons. For example: a tank backing up the frontman? Stim packs would be a great option, but if we limited or siloed tools or weapons, then they’d think the tank is actually a healer. But, if the visual shorthand displayed what the player’s playstyle is, then the tank can have any weapon or tool out, so people still know “Oh, even though that guy has a stim pack out, she’s obviously the tank, look at her outfit”. You get what I mean?
It gives an option to people without limiting the tools or weapons, it allows people to be more creative with their kits, and allows more strategy amongst teammates.
