@batneko replied to your post: "new alignment chart"
Garou WANTS to be top right but has become bottom left
So true. He believes he wants to be and has to be seen as the notorious 'bad guy' who makes everyone feel [redacted] towards him, AND YET, word of god (ONE) has made him evolve towards becoming the 'good protagonist' who happens to solve problems on accident. Literally in the most recent chapter, even. (And Garou himself, just hasn't yet realized his worth to fully comprehend that and define himself. :'D)
Hello! I wanted to ask you a quick question. Is it fine if I can fanbind your Cinderella comic that goes with the batneko story? I'm hoping to bind it in the same fashion as one person did with the "God of Arepo" story
Wait you mean like, make a book out of it? If so oh my god!!! I'd definitely love to see it???? Even maybe have a copy if you don't mind? I would cover the shipping and material costs if you need me to i'm?? Very honored and excited please pardon my language but what the fuck. What the fuck.
I don't remember if Garou has met the boys yet, but he'd definitely be able to tire them out!
(In response to this post)
@batneko-san, thank you for your message!Â
As it happens, today was the first day that my Saitama and I had planned to take the boys out. Hanako-san had a hospital checkup, and my Saitama said, âbe easier if me nâ Genos had âem for the day, huh?âÂ
And so we did.
Weâd planned to take them to a theme park, as there was a special âkids go freeâ promotion. But that plan fell apart when my Saitama discovered the promotion was for next weekend, which is when Hanako-san is taking the twins to visit their grandparents.
So instead, we decided to take them to the park.Â
On the way there, we encountered a monsterâŚÂ
The boys were scared, but as I grabbed them and evacuated them to a safe distance, my Saitama stepped forward and dealt a killing blow, defeating the monster before it could cause any harm.Â
âŚ.Any harm, that is, to anything and everything excepting my Saitamaâs clothes.
He was covered in monster gore.Â
The boys cheered.Â
âThat was so cool, Uncle Saitama!â Kouji said, imitating my Saitamaâs punch.
Ichiro nodded, grinning. âYou hit the monster like POW! And it fell like SPLAT!âÂ
âHeh, I did huh?â Saitama gave them a pleased smile, and plucked at his hoodie. âUgh, this was clean on today,â he said. âGonna run back home and change. You guys go on to the park. Make sure Genos behaves himself, huh?â He wiggled his brows.
âYouâre silly, uncle!â Ichiro giggled. âOkay, weâll make sure Big Brother Genos is good!âÂ
âYeah, weâll tell on him if he isnât!â Kouji agreed. âCome on, big bro, letâs go!â
We parted ways with my Saitama, the boys chattering about how cool he is.Â
âI didnât know he could make monsters splat so easy!â Ichiro exclaimed.
âSaitama is the strongest man in the world,â I told them.
Kouji shook his head. âNuh-uh! Thatâs King!â
âKingâs cool too,â Ichiro said thoughtfully. âHeâs got lots of video gamesâbig bro, will Uncle Saitama take us to see King again next time?âÂ
âWe should ask him!â Kouji decided. âI bet uncleâs got lots of cool famous friends, right big bro?âÂ
Reflecting that Saitama would be disappointed to know the twins didnât consider him âfamousâ, I thought about it.Â
âHe knows Silver Fang and Blizzard of Hell,â I told them.Â
âWooow sheâs pretty!âÂ
âNo way Ichiro, Metal Batâs way better!â
âI didnât say sheâs better jusâ that sheâs pretty!â
âRight,â I agreed. Theyâd met Mumen Rider almost as many times as theyâd met Metal Bat.Â
âAnd that guyâs cool too,â Ichiro pointed across the street. âMumen Riderâs boyfriend.âÂ
As I looked up and saw Garou on the other side of the road, he looked across at us and folded his arms.
âOi! Pointinâs rude, yâknow!â
âHiiii Mumen Riderâs boyfââ Kouji put his hand over his brotherâs mouth. âShh! Mumen Rider told us itâs a secret cos his boyfriend is aâŚwhat is a felon, big bro?â
âIâm a felon,â Garou swaggered over just in time to overhear the question. âMeans I did bad shiâshizz. So donât do bad stuff, yeah? Or your girlfriendsâre gonna hafta keep you secret.âÂ
Ichiro pushed Koujiâs hand from his mouth. âI donât wanna be a secret!âÂ
âYou hafta be good then!â Garou told them. He looked to me and raised his brows. âSup, tinman?âÂ
âGarou.â I narrowed my eyes warningly. If he was going to speak with the twins, heâd better watch what he said. âWeâre going to the park,â I told him.Â
âBaldy not watchinâ his own kids? Youâre a fâfreaking housewife, yâknow that right?âÂ
âHis name. Isnât. Baldy. Itâs Saitama!â I couldnât believe I had to have this conversation with him again!Â
Garou grinned. âIâm just messinâ with ya.â
Ichiro and Kouji mumbled to each other, then peered at Garou with matching scowls.Â
âWeâre not uncleâs sons!â Ichiro exclaimed.
âYeah, and donât be mean to big brother!âÂ
âHeh,â Garouâs grin faded, and he ruffled their hair. âTeasinâs what friends doâright buddy?âÂ
He gave me a challenging look.Â
âYes, itâs what friends do.â
If not for our agreement to help each other out with Christmas shopping, I might have given a more scathing reply.
âAnd friends know where to draw the line,â I clarified, turning my attention back to the boys. âDonât listen to what this guy says. He doesnât know anything.âÂ
âOkay.â
âCan we go to the park now?âÂ
âOoh can I come?âÂ
I looked from the hopeful stares of the twins to Garou, who grinned.
âIâll be good,â he said. âPromise.â
âWill you tell us about Mumen Rider?â Kouji asked, eyes wide.Â
âYeah, whaddya wanna know?â Garou began strolling along the street towards the park, the boys bouncing alongside him like a pair of excited puppies.Â
Resigning myself to the fact Iâd have to endure him until my Saitama returned in order to not make a scene in front of the boys, I followed, silently monitoring the conversation in case Garou said anything unfit for the ears of a pair of nine year olds.Â
ââand he likes tokusatsu stuff. The cheesiest he can find!âÂ
âI like those,â Ichiro said, a little timidly. âLike when the monsterâs gonna destroy the city, and Justice Manâs like POW! and ZAP! and they kill it!âÂ
âHn.â Garou shoved his hands into his pockets, slouching. âMumenâs the kinda hero whoâd find out what the monster wanted first, yâknow?âÂ
âLike in Golden Wolf vs Spaceturtle where Spaceturtle was gonna destroy the dam and flood the city but Golden Wolf talked to her and it was âcos humansâd blocked the river and she couldnât get to her babies and take them to outer space?âÂ
Garou raised his brows at Kouji.
ââŚYeah, kid, like that,â he said. âIf Mumen had powers like Golden Wolf, heâd totally help Spaceturtle get into space with her babies.âÂ
âMumen Rider is cool.âÂ
Garou grinned. âYeah.âÂ
âDoes he really help real monsters?â Ichiro had his arms crossed, and sounded disbelieving.Â
âHe helped one,â I supplied, giving Garou a pointed look. I didnât want the boys to be bothered by the tale of Garouâs past. It would be confusing to young minds as to why a hero would settle down with someone who had done what heâd done.
âYeah, âs right,â Garouâs grin softened. âMumenâs real forgiving. Most monstersâre assholes but Mumenâd help âem if they were hurt and shit. Uh. Shizz.âÂ
Kouji gasped. âGarou said a bad word!â he announced in a stage whisper.
âOh look, thereâs the park.â Garou pointed to the entrance.Â
âYeah! Letâs go play!â Kouji exclaimed, racing into the park. âCâmon, Ichiro!âÂ
âOK! Letâs play heroes and villains!â Ichiro ran after him.Â
I saw Garou wince, a frown passing over his features. Then the twins turned back to us, and the expression was gone.Â
âCome on uncle Garou! Come on big bro Genos!â Ichiro called out.Â
Garouâs brows rose and he looked at me. âDamn it, howcome youâre big bro? âm younger than you!âÂ
âThey must think youâre older,â I said, walking through the gates.Â
âCome on, uncle!â Kouji bounced impatiently. âPlay with us! Heroes and villains!âÂ
Garou sighed. âOK,â he said, striding over to our little group. âBut itâs heroes and monsters, gottit? Iâll play the monster.âÂ
âI wanna play a monster too!â Kouji decided. âWe can be a team!âÂ
âOK then me and big bro are the heroes!â Ichiro stood at my side, his arms folded as his face took on his best Heroic Expression. âWeâll give you a head start!âÂ
Garou looked at Kouji with confusion, and the boy grinned, tugging on his sleeve. âCome on! Weâve gotta find our hideout!âÂ
âCover your eyes, big bro! We gotta count to ten,â Ichiro told me.Â
I did as he askedâcheating slightly, as my sensors detected exactly where Kouji and Garou were going. I was not going to let either of the twins out of my sight when Hanako-san and my Saitama both trusted me to take care of them.
As it turned out, the twinsâ version of âHeroes and Villainsâ (or âHeroes and Monstersâ as Garou insisted it be called) was a combination of hide and seek, and tag. Once Ichiro and I had âfoundâ Kouji and Garou in their âhideoutâ (the other side of a low hedge), they ran, and we chased them. Then Ichiro caught up with Kouji, and then Garou (who let himself be caught) and they chased us instead. Remembering how Iâd played tag with my parents when I was a child, I slowed to let Kouji âtagâ me, and then stood back to watch Garou chase after Ichiro. Garou was deliberately slowing his pace, and made growling noises, his hands like claws as he chased him, and Ichiro yelled in delight as he circled a tree, Garou always conveniently too far behind to catch him.Â
They both looked as though they were enjoying themselves. Perhaps too much, because Kouji pouted and ran to join in.Â
Then it was apparently time for amateur dramatics, because suddenly Ichiro turned around and pointed a his brother and Garou, who skidded to a halt.Â
âStop, monsters!â he cried. âWhy are you trying to destroy the earth?!âÂ
âIâm not destroying it!â Kouji shouted back, in a high-pitched voice. âI, Megamouse, just want to..uhâŚgo to the moon so I can eat cheese!âÂ
âBut youâre destroying the earth! People will be sad!âÂ
âBut Iâll die if I donât eat cheese!âÂ
âThen weâll go to the mini-mart, but youâve got to fight the cow-wrangler, because he saves all the cheese for himself!âÂ
âIâll fight anything for cheese!âÂ
The boys carried on their play, bounding over the grass and crawling under hedges as together they battled an invisible foe.Â
Forgotten, Garou sidled up to me. âSo hero, whatâve you got the kids for?â he said.
âTheir mother has a hospital appointment today.âÂ
âHuhâŚâ Garou watched them, eyes narrowed in thought. âThe taller oneâs kinda like Saitama donâtcha think?âÂ
âI always thought Ichiro was more like him,â I replied. âTheyâve both started to imitate some of his behaviours.âÂ
âNah, I meant like, the taller oneâs got that same egg head.âÂ
I scowled. âIs it your lifeâs mission to be rude or did you just wake up this morning and decide to be a jerk about someoneâs children?âÂ
âJusâ saying his face is likeâŚrounder.â He pouted. âNot beinâ rude, kidâs my monster pal now.âÂ
I couldnât argue with his reasoning, so I smirked at him instead. âEven if he calls you uncle?âÂ
âs just kids being kids,â he shrugged.Â
âOkay, uncle.âÂ
âFuck you trashcan,â he grinned. âOi, whereâs Saitama anyway?âÂ
âMy Saitamaâs clothes became dirty whilst he bravely defeated a monster, therefore heâs gone home to change.âÂ
âGuess youâll be scrubbinâ out bloodstains later huh, housewife?âÂ
âI donât scrub them, I apply stain remover and allow it to soak in. And Iâm not a housewife.âÂ
âNot yet youâre not,â Garou smirked. âYou gotta tell Mumen what you use, idiotâs always getting bloodstains. âs why he wears black, so it doesnât show.âÂ
âItâs my Saitamaâs preferred generic supermarket own-brand stain remover,â I told him. âThere are coupons in the local free paper every monday.âÂ
Garou let out an overdramatic groan. âGod I can tell you and Baldyâre engaged, Mumen said the guyâs into his coupons.âÂ
âCoupons are a good way to live economically.âÂ
âYeah but youâre a fucking S-Classer. Youâve got loadsa cash.âÂ
âWeâre saving it.âÂ
âWhat the hell for?âÂ
I arched a brow at him. âOur wedding.âÂ
âHeh⌠thoseâre expensive, huh?â Garou seemed to deflate a little, and I wondered if heâd factored wedding costs into his plans for the future (assuming, that is, that Iâm right in thinking he might be wanting to propose to Mumen).
âThey can be done on a budget,â I told him.
He snorted. âNot a normal personâs budget.âÂ
Keeping my attention on the boys - who were currently tearing back and forth across the grass and shouting out lines from a TV show - I tilted my head.Â
ââŚGarou, could it be that, with regards to Mumen Rider, you areââ
âBig bro! Uncle! Come and play!â Ichiro waved. âMe and big broâre monsters now, uncle! You and Kouji are the heroes!âÂ
Garou pulled a face. âHow âbout me nâ big broâre monsters nâ you kidsâre heroes? And weâre gonna chase you!âÂ
The twins squealed and ran away as Garou jogged after them. I followed, amused. For someone so brash, Garou interacts well with children. Possibly because he behaves like one.Â
We played âHeroes and Monstersâ for a while longer, until the twins declared they had defeated us, and flopped down on the grass, clearly tired out. Garou had proven inventive in their little game, calling out all kinds of reasons for his monsterly destruction of an imagined world.Â
The twins had loved it.Â
I was a little envious.Â
It was as the boys began to throw handfuls of grass at each other that my Saitama reappeared, wearing a fresh hoodie and carrying a bag of snacks from the conbini.Â
âFound you guysâOh! Hey Garou.âÂ
He said it as though Garouâs presence was a surprise, but the fact his snack bag contained five cream puffs and five bottles of cola, instead of four, made me wonder how long heâd been watching us. It was obvious that heâd known Garou was with us, and his acting is nowhere near as good as that of the twins.Â
âYo, Baldy.âÂ
âOi, youâre the baldy!â Saitama tossed a cream puff to him.Â
Garou snickered. âCheers.âÂ
The boys joined us, by way of crawling across the grass pretending to be giant snake-monsters. Garou had certainly been an influence on them.Â
âWellp, Iâm off,â Garou said, once the boys had finished their snacks. He ruffled their hair and stood. âGotta go catch up with Mumen.âÂ
âOkaaaaaaaay.â The boys chorused, in whiny voices.Â
âOi, whaddya say to Uncle Garou?â Saitama prompted, brows raised.
Kouji huffed. âThanks for playing, Uncle Garou!âÂ
âYeah, youâre the best monster!â Ichiro agreed.Â
âHeh, sure am.â Garouâs smile appeared a little tight, and he raked a hand through his hair. âSee ya round, kids.âÂ
âByeeee Uncle Garou!âÂ
The boys were quiet for the rest of the afternoon, too worn out from running around the park to be interested in anything beyond playing a video game that my Saitama had borrowed from King.Â
When we dropped them home that evening, they both declared that they were looking forward to watching their TV show, which Hanako-san explained was their weekend treat before they had to go to bed. She appeared more relaxed that evening than she had done during the morning. Her checkup had gone as well as expected, she said, and sheâd taken the rest of the day to pamper herself.Â
âFeeling better then?â Saitama asked her.
âYes. Thanks, Sai,â she smiled at him. âLooks like the boys had a good time today.âÂ
âHeh, you shoulda seen Genos and his buddy playing with âem.âÂ
She looked at me. âYour friend came along too?âÂ
âAn acquaintance,â I corrected. âSaitama and I know him through Mumen Rider.â
âHeâs good with kids,â Saitama smiled and wrapped an arm around my waist. âNot as good as Genos though. Heâs the best.â
âYouâre good with them too, Saitama!â I protested, somewhat flustered by his comment. If Iâm honest, Iâd thought that Garou had been much better with the boys than me.Â
Hanako-san smiled at us. âIâm grateful to you guys. Itâs great to have people I can rely on to watch out for them. Youâd both make great dads one day.âÂ
Saitama beamed. âAny time, yâknow?âÂ
We left a little after that, since the boys had taken themselves off to bathe and change into their pyjamas of their own accord, and were clearly ready to go to bed early.Â
On the way home, I couldnât help but analyse all that my Saitama had said since the time heâd joined us in the park, and eventually I had to askâ
âHow long were you watching us today?âÂ
He grinned sheepishly. âI dunno, in time to see Garou fall on his ass when Kouji jumped on him.âÂ
The memory made me grin. âThat was somewhat amusing.âÂ
âSomewhat? Dude I saw you laughing your ass off.âÂ
âIt was funny,â I conceded. âWhy didnât you join us sooner?âÂ
âYou nâ Garou looked like you were gettinâ along nâ having fun with the kids soâŚâ he shrugged. âFigured itâd be ok to leave you playing for a bit and went to get snacks and stuff.âÂ
âAnd stuff?â
âYeah.â My fiance smiled then, and caught hold of my hand. âCâmon, Genos. Letâs get home. I wanna watch this show the kidsâve been talking about.âÂ
And so we headed home, my question largely unanswered.Â
It took my Saitama three hours to change and rejoin us, but the walk to the park is only twenty minutes even at a slow pace.Â
