throwback to last year when i joined my friends in Dune Awakening during a free weekend. MMOs aren't really my jam but i did enjoy spending a day creating an MC Escher nightmare house in the backyard of their base for them to find
also i appreciate when games let you rename everything. shout out sand worms
My Palworld journey... PART 1 (I guess I should label them)
The start of my base...
In my early access file, I made my first base right on top of the ruined building just next to where it is right now. Well, we can't do that anymore, so I built it further back.
It wasn't until later on, when I needed more space to put the LARGE workbenches and the expedition thingy and that HUGE altar, that I realised I had lost a third of my building space to the river. Oops.
I also built a defensive wall all around, since in the early access version we had raids... but so far, I've not had any. I'm level 43 now... but maybe it's because I've only defeated the Syndicate tower. Do the raids start after the Pal Alliance guys get defeated? I expect so.
Anyway, I also built right next to a big lumpy rock which is hard to build on... but build I did!
Somehow, I fit that Expedition piece on - by extending out over the river on roof pieces.
The viewing cage was short-lived. There was just no room for all the other things I needed to build in order to progress.
Quite chuffed to get those big Pals in eggs at a fairly low level.
The base has been through a few overhauls... and I'm hoping I can make a second base, like we could do in early access... or else I might eventually have to move.
(I've reached the picture limit on this post so there will be a Part Two)
More of my NPC housing project I gotta add furniture and outdoor decor but I like it.
My main base

Just found out that placing and removing walls is pretty fun. They should make a shooter where you place a lot of walls but you can also be goku and peter family guy in it
Bellwright: Building a Rebellion One Village at a Time
Bellwright stands out because it mixes survival, settlement building, and medieval strategy into one steady loop. Instead of only gathering resources for yourself, the game makes every axe swing, crafted tool, and recruited villager feel connected to a bigger goal.
What I like most is the feeling of starting small. You begin by surviving, then slowly build a camp, organize workers, gather food, improve equipment, and turn a fragile hideout into something that can actually support a rebellion. That progression makes the world feel practical instead of decorative.
The village management side is especially interesting. When a game asks you to think about supply lines, crafting stations, defenses, and people who depend on the base, every decision has more weight. Exploring is not just about finding loot. It is about finding what your settlement needs next.
Bellwright also has a strong medieval adventure mood: forests, outposts, fights, travel, and the constant pressure of preparing before you push too far. It is the kind of game where small improvements can feel meaningful because they change what you are able to risk tomorrow.

For players who enjoy survival crafting and settlement growth, Bellwright is worth watching because it turns base building into part of a larger campaign.
