i like to imagine that because Architects are mostly synthetic and all mentally connected, their bodies process emotional pain and physical pain in exactly the same way, and therefore they also express it in the same way. imagine Bart and Ryley finding out that everything that happened to them and everyone they ever knew and loved dying was because of what Al-An did and he's desperately trying to apologize to them. His voice is completely monotone like it always is but his legs are quivering, he's losing his balance and collapsing and clutching his stomach in pain, begging them to understand him because he just cant be as human as they need him to be
