King Crimson - ‘In The Court of the Crimson King’ [1969] As the birth of 70s prof rock as we know it, King Crimson’s #inthecourtofthecrimsonking is almost a gateway into another world entirely, serving up mixed emotions: madness, fear, despair. Even Crimson’s guitarist #robertfripp has said, “If you cover the smiling face, the eyes reveal an incredible sadness. What can one add? It reflects the music.” The cover was actually a painting by computer programmer #BarryGodber, who died of a heart attack the year after the album’s release.
