This year was Bennett’s first real birthday since Genshin’s launch. His birthday falls on leap day February 29, which generally only occurs every 4 years. I impulsively decided to make a birthday fanart for him even if I wasn’t initially planning to. But as always, I wasn’t able to finish it on time. All my birthday/tribute fanarts are late, I dunno why I keep trying at this point lmao ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

The idea I have in mind while drawing this is: “The Knights and Church of Favonius prepared a birthday surprise for Bennett, however the boy arrived in Mondstadt injured (which is normal btw) so they postponed the party and got him treated first.”

It is actually canon that Bennett goes to the cathedral to seek treatment from Barbara whenever he’s hurt so I drew her together with him. This is also my 2nd fav Barbara ship tho I don’t talk too much about it. My original sketch was Barbara putting a bandage on him but when Genshin dropped Bennett’s official birthday fanart, I changed it into the yellow band-aid shown.
