The weather was finally decent enough to use MSC, so I got my OOAK doll's face sealed.
I'm gonna sew a little e-girl outfit for her after I get done sewing the gyaru outfit for my custom AG.
After seeing the barbie repaints @hole34 posted recently, it got me thinking about repaints I still wanted to do and/or needed to get around to at some point. So on the spot I pulled one of those dolls out and got to work. Her name is Anna Marie, and she's my shot(er) hair length Jewel Hair Mermaid Barbie I got 2nd hand back in 2018.
A few years ago I tried adding on top of her face up and botched it, and undoing that left her with a lot of her factory paint gone. Since I got a white water color pencil a short while ago, I decided to take a crack at fixing up her face up.
It's still very rough around the edges, but it's a vast improvement over what it was before. She has a face again. I'm happy with this, though I will go back and make it neater at some point.
Making progress! I love them so much, they need a lot of work still but Iβm happy with how they are turning out π©·
First Barbie Repaint π¨ποΈ
I have always admired people who can professionally repaint and reroot their Barbies. The only thing I have always been able to do, was sewing πͺ‘𧡠and styling. I really desired to try and repaint one of my dolls. So I chose this one (her name's Merriweather π«) and she's from the galaxy colour reveal series. I got her from my friend for Nikolausabend last year. And even though I've always liked her hair, I never liked the fact that her eyes were printed π (like fr, Mattel, why do you keep doing this? Collectors want to see quality even in playline dolls and actually, children too. You are influencing a future generation through your dolls and you should teach the kids how to recognise good quality; kids are small, but not dumb. π)
So, I repainted her printed makeup π
Even though it's not the best result ever, I am more happy about it like this than about the original printed version. At least I put some of my heart and art into her π©·π¨
I love the white eyebrows so much π€ That's my most favourite part! By the way, I used acrylic paint for the eyebrows, eyelids, teeth and white details in her makeup. For the eyelashes, I used thin black permanent marker π€ And for the little blue π galactic points above her eyes, I used normal blue marker (when you put it on the dried acrylic paint, it works quite well, I have to admit π)

Guys my repainted Jinx doll is so pretty Iβm so excited to keep working on her π
Had one too many Ken dolls so he got the repaint treatment β¨
A little Barbie repaint work in progress. The first girl is a random ice skater I picked up second hand, and the other, much less finished girl is the more recent surfer that came out. She had some scratches on her face, so I decided to do a port wine stain the covers up the blemishes and looks cute :) I think this is my first time doing a full repaint on a Barbie, and itβs going better than I expected!
