I just discovered a new Wreck it Ralph x Turbo/King Candy ship name:

Carcrash or WiR Carcrash

This ship isn’t super new, but also not super old compared to ships from older fandoms like Darkwing Duck. Because of this, I was not expecting this ship to have so many ship names:

Demolition Derby (First ship name I saw and is also written on the fandom wiki. Usually seen alone, but is also accompanied by WiR like WiR Demolition Derby)

Wrecktastic (Second ship name I saw while browsing Tumblr’s ship tags. Also seen with and/or without WiR added on.)

Bara Beacon (The third name tag I found on Tumblr and probably the oldest ship name of this pairing as it seems to be linked to ship posts ranging from 2013-2018.)

Carcrash (The most recent ship name I found of the two and is mainly seen with WiR added on. Most likely for safety reasons)

The next Demolition Derby/Bara Beacon post I wanted to make is taking a bit of time to finish, so I decided to post my recent wholesome doodle of the two in the meantime. It may or may not also be because I wanted to revive their ship tags on Tumblr. 🫣

This time its based on “Why Bother Play? (When Its Unfair)” by BugBot (DragonQueenTessa)

This artwork also has a bit more spoilers in it, so I rearrange the image and desc. of this post so anyone who wants to read it won’t be spoiled instantly.

The scene here is based off of multiple scenes in the fic such as their first encounter and a conversation between the two.

I experimented with my mediums more on this one. I used alcohol markers for the backgrounds and color pencils for the characters and background details. I also used a B Graphite pencil for the outlines, white ink to color in Turbo (big and small) and Ralph’s corneas, and black ink for the outlines dividing the 1/3 closeups and the center picture.

What do you guys think? Art critics are welcome since this was the first time I used alcohol markers. The set didn’t come with a blender so I had to make do.

If the artists sees this, I can’t wait to see this fanfic continue! :)

This artwork is based on one of the Ao3 fanfics that got me interested in the Demolition Derby/Wrecktastic/Bara Beacon ship:

Beforehand, I didn’t know that this ship (Wreck It Ralph x Turbo/King Candy) was a rarepair in the fandom. Even to this day this ship doesn’t have a lot of content.

Yet, when I read this fic along with Bugbot’s “Why Bother Play (When It’s Unfair)”, it got me loving this ship almost instantly. So much so that I decided to draw Demo Derby fanart based on these works.

This artwork in particular is based on a scene where Turbo and Ralph start to get along for the first time. I don’t want to spoil too much, but I thought it was a really sweet chapter. I made this using a pencil to sketch out the forms and color pencils to color in the details.

Who is louder? Ralph

Who is more experimental? KCB, he likes to try new things on Ralph.

Who takes more risks? KCB of course, and he convinces Ralph it was either his own idea or that he'll like it.

Do they fuck or make love? Both, depends on the universe and situation behind getting together.

Lights on or off? Lights on or dim, Ralph doesn't care too much for the dark not when KCB has excellent night vision

Who is more likely to be caught masturbating? Ralph

Who is more likely to suggest a threesome? Neither, KCB is possessive and jealous and Ralph wouldn't consider it.

Has either stolen the other’s underwear? KCB has, just to fuck with Ralph.

Who comes first? KCB - he's a bit of a selfish prick as well all know, and Ralph is selfless enough that in their relationship he puts him first, though Vanellope comes before anyone and everyone.

Who is better at oral and who prefers it? They are both about equally good, but KCB prefers it because having Ralph underneath him is a power high he loves.

Who is more submissive? Ralph usually.

Who usually initiates things? KCB

Who is more sensitive? Ralph, partially because he's just not used to being touched, partially because KCB deliberately goes for sensitive spots.

Dark (AU In which King Candybug/Turbo wins and Felix and Calhoun escape by blowing up Sugar Rush's entry to the rest of the arcade, leaving Vanellope and Ralph trapped in the game.  Also, I can't do Turbo's lisp, sorry. ;w;

They lost. 

He lost. 

Shouldn't have been a surprise, when had he ever gotten anything but wrecking right? Bad Guys couldn't be good. Bad Guys couldn't do good things and trying had only made everything worse.

Because Turbo was angry. Because Sugar Rush was a candy-coasted apocalypse and the last the Wrecker had seen of Vanellope a pair of Cybugs were keeping her huddled in a corner, fighting to see which of them would eat her first.

Not that they would. They couldn't.

They wouldn't because Candy - Turbo was having too much fun. 

"You should have stayed out of this Ralph," the name is drawled by a teasing, cruel voice and it's creepy, coming from the corner of the room. 

Turbo is too big, it's not fair that he can sneak around like this.

"But you didn't and I have to say..." His voice trails off and Ralph scowls and twitches, but it's useless - his hands are chained above his head, his legs chained down so he can't fight back, can't crush Candy like the bug he is and save Vanellope himself. 

"You're doing it again Ralph, I can tell. Thinking you could be a hero, thinking about saving that little glitch. You know you can't, don't you? You can't stop me Ralph, you're just not smart enough. You're the Bad Guy Ralph and Bad Guy's lose."

His tone is sadistically pleased, amused, but more importantly - honest. Ralph can't find a single sense that he's lying and it - hurts. A lot. 

Because it's true, isn't it? Heroes save people and Ralph... isn't a hero. Faint hopes start to fade but Ralph can't give up.

"What, you think you're a Hero? You're nothing but a chocolate-munching monster Turbo!"

Turbo growls, fangs flashing in his mouth before he gets control of his code again.

"I am a King! The King of Sugar Rush and you are nothing but my prisoner! You're mine Ralph, you were then and you are now because no one else will ever want you and no one else will ever rescue you!"

Starfire/Raven

The room was quiet and empty, casually messy in the way she wanted it, not the artificial cleanliness her father had tried to impose. Raven closed her eyes, deliberately drawing in a slow, deep breath. Trigon was gone, her friends - idiotic as they had been - were back to normal, and everything was ... good.

So why wouldn't calm come? Why couldn't she hold her emotions within her?

Why was half of her furniture floating around her head?

Pursed lips were the only sign of her aggravation to touch her features as she tried to breathe, to retreat into the familiar pattern of meditation, but - nothing. It just wasn't happening. 

"...Friend Raven?"

Starfire's voice is a little subdued, more so than usual, a shade below her usual volume.

"I am... troubled. And I wish to meditate with you, if such a thing is acceptable?"  

It's first instinct to say no, to want to hide while she's so vulnerable, but her mouth says "Come in," without her permission. 

The door is opened and shut in an instant and a bright presence is beside her.

It should be distracting, Starfire's presence. Her bright red hair and orange skin and bright, bright green eyes and her aura is as bright as her body is.

But instead, something tense inside of her loosens, when she hadn't even been aware it was so harshly coiled. 

They sit. They meditate.

I respect other people’s shipping of 80’s Boyfriends, though I don’t think I’ll ever ship it myself.

(Some content warnings regarding discussion of rape/sexual assault below, read with caution.)

I got my exposure to Bara Beacon through the blogs of the awesome chuplayswithfire, whoadontlook, and whethervane/nethervane and irradiateddogmeat and runebara also feature art for these two (warning, there’s LOTS of dubcon/noncon porn, which gave me the impression that the scene that went down between Ralph and KCB was actually meant to look like a rape scene). I mean I sort of got where 80’s Boyfriends was coming from, since Felix knew so much about Turbo’s situation so it’s understandable how some people would think that they could’ve known each other very well, but really, when you look at how Ralph and King Candy/Turbo/KCB’s relationship plays out in the film, it’s a lot more telling.

First let’s start with Ralph’s first introduction to King Candy. Immediately, KC is shocked. “Milk my duds! It’s Wreck-It Ralph?!?” So he knew about him long before any of this mess happened, but notice how he’s not entirely afraid of Ralph. In Game Central station, literally everyone except Felix and other bad guys are afraid of Ralph (in one way or another). But KC? No, once he’s gotten over the shock of seeing Ralph again, he’s so coy with him, teasing him, not afraid to get up in his face. Course this could be because he has Ralph restrained, but overall KC is totally nonchalant in Ralph’s presence. So this makes you wonder, how much did Turbo know about Ralph prior to then? Was Turbo always scared of Ralph and now sees this as an opportunity to get his own back? Did they know each other well enough to feel at relative ease with one another (since Ralph isn’t all that vicious despite his role/appearance). Whatever happened, though, it’s pretty clear that it did not end entirely well. Otherwise KC would’ve said “Okay, have your damn medal, now GTFO!” So there’s that.

By the next scene together, KC seems to know quite enough about Ralph’s personality in order to trust that Ralph would believe in him rather than kick his ass and run. I already discussed this HERE.

Then comes the scene where Turbo makes his stunning revelation. Note the differences between Felix’s reaction and Ralph’s reaction. Felix just has his mouth agape and his eyes are wide and he’s like “What? Oh…” Meanwhile Ralph pulls out the super epic “NO!! WAY!!” Come on now.

And the infamous scene at the top of Diet Cola Mountain. Taking all these scenes into consideration, I’ve come to this headcanon: Back in the 80’s, Turbo, being the showoff that he was and wanted to prove that he was brave in addition to being a fast racer (or maybe he was desperate since nobody liked him for being a showoff and because he was ugly), convinced Ralph, who was lonely and desperate for love, to sleep with him, or be his friend/lover, or even just make some sort of bet with him. Turbo was only doing it to get laid and/or look cool (“Hey look at me I tamed the beast!” or “See look a bad guy was willing to fuck me, why aren’t you? I’m the best, please”) but Ralph took it very seriously. They did get to know each other a bit more but of course Turbo reveals his true colours and baddum-bump shit goes down between them and it’s very messy. Years later, and Turbo, still bearing a grudge at how Ralph got the last laugh (a la “Turbo tamed the beast ONLY NOT REALLY HE WAS JUST BEING A COWARDLY DICK AND RALPH WAS LIKE ‘EXCUSE YOU ENOUGH WITH YOUR SHIT’ OH SNAP”) and takes advantage of him throughout his adventures in Sugar Rush until, at the mountain, he decides to finally have his way with Ralph, both for the threat he’s laid against his regime in Sugar Rush and their messy breakup, and, after beating/dominating Ralph and proving to be the stronger one (the fact that Ralph is so large and Turbo was so tiny until turning into KCB also adds a lot of dimension to it; Turbo could’ve had a lot of insecurities because of his size and so beating up Ralph would’ve been a source of vindication for him), he attempts to kill/rape him.
