Sirius is tracing the curve of Jamesâ jaw with a pencil, imagining that it were his finger doing it, instead.Â
James looks gorgeous like this: distracted, laughing, lighting up the room in that uniquely James-way that only heâs capable of. The afternoon sunlight is catching all of the browns in the curls of his hair, and Sirius wishes he could take the time to parse out each hue. Thereâs a mediocre pencil drawing only just beginning to come to life on the sketchpad in front of him, and yet Sirius already knows it wonât capture even half the magic that is real-life James.
Sirius shades here and there, deepens the shadows of Jamesâ cheekbones, keeps the brightness under his eyes. This particular sketchbook is full of drawings of James: James at Quidditch practice, James in the Great Hall, James furrowing his brow at his Potions homework. Page after page lie hours of dedication to the image of James, and he has no idea.
More than once, Sirius thought of showing him. It could be platonic, really, if framed in the right wayâbut Sirius knows the true intent behind it, and thatâs what scares him. James is his best friend in the entire world, someone whoâs been there for him no matter what. Sirius would stick by James under any circumstance, he would run any time James called, and he knows thereâs something more to this feeling. Thereâs something to unpack between the pages upon pages of Jamesâ face in his sketchbook, and Sirius would do everything in his power to keep it secret.
âHey,â James catches Siriusâ eyes, and there goes that familiar swoop of his heart. âWhatâre you drawing?â
James scoots closer on the floor, shoulder pressing up to Siriusâ legs that hang from the armchair. He presses his cheek into Siriusâ leg and tries to peek. Sirius reacts immediately, clutching the sketchbook to his chest. âNothing. Itâs nothing.â
An odd look crosses Jamesâ face, but passes just as quickly. âFine, keep your secrets. But I think youâre a really good artist, you know. I wonât judge you.â
Thereâs an earnestness in Jamesâ face, something like âyouâve given me everything in the world already, wonât you give me this too?â
âAlright,â Sirius says, loosening his white-knuckled grip on the sketchbook. He tilts it toward James ever so slightly, heart pounding. âItâsâyou. I was drawing you.â
James considers it for a while, brow furrowed, then traces his finger over his replicaâs jaw. âItâs... really good, Sirius. Like, really good.â
Thereâs a heart at the back of Siriusâ mouth. âYou can have it, if you want.â
Jamesâ face lights up. âThanks, Pads. Youâre the best.â
He presses a kiss into the side of Siriusâ knee, and Siriusâ heart leaps out of his mouth. Peter says something, then, that draws Jamesâ attention, and the entire moment is over just as quickly as it started.
Sirius sits back to finish his drawing, heart laid bare and beating on the carpet in front of him.

on dancing on tables | cheaters!prongsfoot | 554 words

James is the worst fucking person on planet Earth, heâs well aware. But god, he canât help it.
Itâs late, and the party derailed several hours ago, and he should just fucking go home. But Sirius is dancing on a table, and those tight leather pants are low enough to reveal the strip of skin between his hipbones, and Jamesâ mouth is watering. Sirius is unaware, in his own little world as he always is, dancing next to Marlene without a care. His head is tipped back so that the tips of his hair graze his lower back, white t-shirt lifted up to put that fucking strip of skin on display.
James would give anything in the world to get it between his teethâto bite and pull at Siriusâ hipbones, because he knows Sirius likes that. He knows every point on Siriusâ body that makes him squirm, has committed them to faithful memory over years in darkened rooms. Sirius is drunk, too, and James knows how much he likes to be marked up when heâs drunk. Drunk Sirius is another animalâdesperate, clawing, loud, unashamed. Thereâs a heat building in Jamesâ gut.
His eyes trace down the length of Siriusâ body, and then they catch it: between Sirius and Marleneâs bodies, James can see Remus on the other side of the table, watching Sirius with that same all-consuming desire written plain on his face. His eyes are dark, and his legs are spread, and his attention is faithfully plastered on his boyfriend.
Red-hot shame courses through Jamesâ veins, and he tries valiantly to swallow it back down to where it lives deep in his stomach. Sirius isnât his, but James takes, because heâs greedy, an interloper, a sex-crazed maniac with no regard for anyone elseâs feelings when it comes to Sirius Black.Â
Remus adjusts in his chair, and James knows exactly what thoughts are going through his head. Itâs oddly intimate, to know that Remus is having the same kind of filthy thoughts that James is. And, because heâs drunk, and this whole situation with Sirius has blown away any sense of reason James has ever had, he stalks across the room and crouches down next to Remusâ chair.
Remus doesnât even notice him. Sirius has thrown an arm around Marlene and is moving their hips together.
âHe looks good, doesnât he?â James says, voice soft for only them to hear.
Remus startles, but refocuses just as quickly. âYeah,â he breathes, ââcourse he does.â
Sirius tips his head back again, and James and Remusâ breaths hitch in unison. Remus creeps his hand forward on the arm of the chair to rest above where James has put his for balance, and that simple act alone doubles his heart rate.
âYou thinking about what youâre gonna do to him later?â
Remus tears his attention away to look James up and down. For a moment, James expects Remus to read him for every disgusting, traitorous thing heâs ever done. A tiny smirk settles on his lips, and he leans in to whisper into Jamesâ ear.
âIâm gonna take him home and fuck him until he doesnât remember your name.â
Remus takes Sirius home less than ten minutes later, and James spends the night with his own right hand and the memory of Remusâ hot breath against his ear.

James and Sirius being stars makes so much sense, james being a magnificent star blinding Sirius with so much love he cannot see james as anything but perfection, the center of his universe and his favorite source of light and warmth
And Sirius being the most beautiful star in the sky, the brightest star in the night sky but he holds so much depth and emotion that is far more important than his appearance, that he only allowed james to see.

I'd Die For You
âI have a few ideas,â James replied, his own teasing smile on his lips as he winked at the reaper. âYou could kiss me, for one.â
âNow that is an idea.âÂ
They both leaned in at the same time, not caring what the muggles thought. Being gay wasnât exactly brilliant in the wizard world, but it was worse in the muggle one, still, it was their first date and James was just so tired of hiding. The kiss was gentle, barely a touch of their lips. Beneath the glamour, Siriusâ skin was cold against Jamesâ, their hand cupping his cheek, holding him close. Jamesâ glasses pressed into face but Sirius didnât seem to mind. Despite the chasteness of the kiss, James felt like his world had been turned upside down. His eyes fluttered shut, and even as Sirius pulled away, he felt himself chasing the reaperâs lips.Â
How could something so small be so life-changing?
It was just a kiss.Â
Heâd shared thousands of kisses with Lily, and before that heâd had nearly a dozen first kisses with boys and girls alike at Hogwarts. Yet none were quite like this. No witch or wizard held a candle to Sirius. James wondered whether it was some sort of reaper magic, tugging at his life essence, making everything seem like so much more.Â
When Loyalty Becomes Courage (The Hufflepuff!Sirius AU)
James was panicking. Sirius was spiralling, and everything seemed to be going wrong.Â
So he did the only thing he could think of, and pulled Sirius down on top of him, crashing their lips together. It was enough to shut Sirius up, and hopefully reassure him that James really wasnât joking. Not exactly how he pictured their first kiss, but it did somehow sort of suit them.
Siriusâ lips were chapped, and as James' fingers brushed his cheek, he could feel the bristles of stubble from where Sirius hadn't shaved that morning. The now familiar musky scent of leather and smoke washed over James, leaving no doubt of who he was kissing. It was exhilarating and new. His head was spinning; his breath catching in his throat. James was kissing Sirius Black!Â
He was kissing a boy.Â
And bloody hell, he really liked it.
The Courtship
âMerlin, I bloody love you!â Sirius spun around and before James couldnât realise what was happening, he crashed their lips together in a bruising kiss.Â
âHmmph!â
If the love confessions had made Jamesâ head spin, it was nothing to how he felt now. The world was upside down, topsy-turvy, wrong way round⊠he clung onto Sirius like he was the only thing keeping him from floating away. It wasnât even a long kiss, over before it had even begun, but it was a kiss.Â
It was a kiss⊠from Sirius.Â
All In
James, apparently, had had enough of Siriusâ flailing, his fingers pulling at Siriusâ tie and closing what little gap there was between them. At the first touch of their lips, Sirius felt his eyes go wide, not expecting to be snogged in the middle of the Library by the love of his life, and then because he was weak, he melted into it, kissing James back before his friend could change his mind.Â
But when had James Potter ever changed his mind about anything?
Â
Even when Sirius started to pull away for air, James just hummed in contentment and moved to nuzzle at Siriusâ neck. âAll in,â he murmured, wrapping his arms around Siriusâ neck to keep himself steady on his lap.Â
Like... a date?
And so, like the hurricane that he was, James flew into the dungeons. He completely ignored Slughornâs protests and marched straight up to Sirius, taking his face in his hands, and crashed their lips together. Sirius jumped slightly but soon melted into the kiss, his hands tugging at Jamesâ hair and knocking his glasses crooked as they pressed into his cheek. The pair only broke apart when they were forcibly separated by magic. Their chairs flew across the room and Slughorn glared at them both, his wand out and aimed at James.Â
Falling
In lieu of a reply, Sirius just launches himself into Jamesâ lap, and James doesnât have a chance to protest before Sirius crashes their lips together.Â
Oh.Â
Well, thatâs new. Good, unexpected⊠and definitely new. James winces a little, a sharp pain stabbing through his arm as he tries to pull Sirius closer. Not just a headache then, so probably not a hangover.Â
âSorry,â Sirius murmurs against Jamesâ lip.Â
âHmm⊠youâre kissing me?â
Sirius laughs, his fingers brushing Jamesâ cheek. âI am. Thatâs what happens when you love someone.â
Wouldn't it be funny if we kissed?
Before James could finish what was sure to be an insult to Siriusâ pride, Sirius pressed their lips together. Gryffindor courage and all. The whole time his thoughts were racing, reminding him that they could still laugh it off, that it was probably just a prank on Jamesâ part, a dare, a challenge. It didnât have to mean anything. Except Jamesâ hands were in his hair, holding him closer as their noses bumped awkwardly together. Neither of them had kissed anyone before, as far as Sirius knew anyway, and it showed. The kiss was messy, imperfect and really a bit shit, but it was a kiss.Â
He was kissing James.Â
And more importantly, James was kissing him back.Â
Be Gay do Crimes - Drunk alleyway kisses
In this case, when Sirius told him to stop, James blurted out "Make me!"Â
Sirius narrowed his eyes at James, his gaze flicking down to his lips before he shrugged. His hands cupped James cheeks and before James could process what was happening, Sirius kissed him.
Sirius was kissing him.Â
Not Most People - NB James having their gender crisis
It was a revelation! Something shone brightly in Jamesâ soul and he- no- they wanted to kiss Sirius so fucking badly!Â
Wait what??Â
That was new. Bloody hell, were they really having a gender crisis and a âI fancy my best mateâ crisis all in one evening? Still, James Potter was a Gryffindor, whether or not they were a boy, and so they lunged forwards, capturing Siriusâ lips in a kiss. It was not the most skillful kiss theyâd ever had, noses bumping, teeth clacking, and where the hell were they supposed to put their hands? But Sirius didnât seem to care, after only a second he seemed to process what was going on, and he was kissing back.Â
Siriusâ hands threaded into Jamesâ hair, and James settled for gripping at Siriusâ pyjama shirt, holding him closer. Theyâd always been close, but kissing was new, exciting, damn right addictive. The world could burn around them and James wouldnât care. They were kissing Sirius.Â
âThank you,â they murmured against Siriusâ lips as they pulled away to breathe.Â
Sirius hummed and pressed a kiss to their forehead. âAnytime, love. I promise. Iâm here for you.â
One Bond - Omega James Potter (Explicit)
"Well⊠you always have been my best mate," James murmured, letting his gaze fall very deliberately to Sirius' lips.
Sirius whined, his resolve snapping, and James found himself with a lap full of alpha. Legs tangled around his waist. Their lips crashed together, all tongues and teeth. The rims of James' glasses cut into his cheeks, and his hands pulled into the thick tresses of Sirius' hair. The musky scent of alpha surrounded him, driving him crazy as he tore at Siriusâ boxers. There were too many layers and James needed Sirius in him like five minutes ago.Â
No Time to Think
And that was where it all began.
The kiss had been chaste, a bid for freedom from the magical plant more than anything else. It wasnât meant to be life-changing or magical, just a quick peck between friends and then theyâd move on with their day. Sirius would continue complaining about all the birds who tried to snog him around Christmas, and James would continue his flirtations with Lily.Â
