Today is the International Day for Tolerance, founded by the @unitednations (UN) General Assembly in 1996. According to the UN website, this day is meant to strengthen tolerance by “fostering mutual understanding among cultures and peoples.” Their website for this day goes on to share, “Education for tolerance should aim at countering influences that lead to fear and exclusion of others and should help young people develop capacities for independent judgement, critical thinking and ethical reasoning.
