Exit: Has your OC ever had someone important leave their life in a way that was unremarkable, unintentional, or clumsy? How do they feel about it? Is there any chance they'll meet again?
afhiri hasn't had many people in their life, admittedly. this is why afhiri is so immensely attached to the companions and several npcs in the story, and holds onto them close. afhiri calls them her own clown troupe and tries to connect them through this so they'll never leave. of course they do in the end, but not without her own attempts to stop it from happening.
they turn the people in their life into family.. almost immediately. every single recruited companion is immediately connected to afhiri forever in her mind.
this does mean the answer to this question is simply the companions leaving at the end of the game. there is no one else for it.
i could however mention the chwinga afhiri meets as a child that grants her the wild magic she possesses as a gift, or blessing. however afhiri's parting ways with the chwinga was how things had to be. and they are reunited in act 3. ^_^
Loss: Is there anyone important to your OC who has passed away? How did they handle the loss?
no, afhiri hasn't experienced loss. this is intentional by me in order to make sure afhiri goes through things with as little trauma as possible.
in my 3 years later fic something immensely awful befalls afhiri (and gale) and it is her first real taste of trauma. she's never had to deal with feelings like this before. afhiri doesn't have experience with negative emotions that don't pass after a few minutes, she's a character who bounces back fast and doesn't let things weigh on her. she is free.
but this one experience crashes that all down and for the first time in her life she knows what pain is, and the one person she has that they'd ever want to turn to with these new, horrible feelings, is the cause of them.
