SO! I’ve been reading a lot of YA fiction recently so I’ve a whole bunch of recommendations for that!

Anything by Brigid Kemmerer. Honestly, I discovered her recently and I’m so glad I did. Her fiction focuses on two main characters, male and female, and alternates from their POV in each chapter and moves the story forward. It’s a fascinating concept. I’ve read Call It What You Want (sadly not about the song), Letters To The Lost and the sequel More Than We Can Tell. I’ve recently just finished A Curse So Dark and Lonely which is a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast but waaaay better. I’ve need to start the sequel which I’ll probably do tomorrow. I’d recommend any of those. I’ve not read her Elemental series, yet, but I may do as this lockdown goes on.

You’ve also got Karen M McManus who’s written One of Us Is Lying and its sequel One of Us Is Next, and her other book Two Can Keep A Secret. I’d recommend any of them.

If you want something a little different, there’s this lovely science fiction book with spin offs called A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. Would recommend those.

Blackberry Winter by Sarah Jio. That is a very moving book, I read it a couple of years ago so the plot is a little fuzzy but I remember feeling very profound from it.

I’m SO glad you agree! Twilight was also my first foray into reading for fun and I’m pretty sure I read the whole series three times over that first year alone 😅I think we all know it’s not the most uhh profound book but it’s fun and overall a great introduction.
