Rin is red faced and sweating, and it's clear that he stopped and turned around to leave at least twice on his way approaching the other shinigami. At first eye contact it's clear that he debates turning around again. But instead he pitched forward into a weird sort of bow, shoving a little package of sweets out towards the other. "HappywhitedayIhopethisisalrightIjustrespectyoualotpleasedontthinkthisisweirdiveneverdonethisbefore" (I'm late but have some Rin screeching)
Shinji automatically caught the little bag of candy that had been frantically pushed at him before it could fall onto the floor. The gift had been wrapped with care - a bit clumsy but nonetheless sincere. His brow lifted at the rushed, almost panicked declaration; abruptly remembering that this Shinigami had shared on multiple occasions his penchant for sweets and candy.Â
â This is from yer personal, private stash, isnât it? Also, calm down will ya? Itâs not a big deal- â He opened the pack and drew out a generous handful of konpeito, grabbed Rinâs hand before the frazzled young man could run away screeching in mortification, and planted the rainbow assortment of sugar candy on his palm. â Suck on these slowly and just breathe. â
Shinji picked out another piece of the candy and tossed it straight up in the air, deftly catching it in his mouth on its way down. The tiny piece of hard candy promptly started to melt on his tongue, leaving a faintly sweet aftertaste lingering in his palate. It was mild, pleasant and did not seek to offendâŠjust like its giver.Â
The lanky blond gestured vaguely with the bag of candy sitting on his hand, portion now significantly reduced, yet more than enough to satisfy Shinji as it was.
â Thanks, Rin. Iâll take these. â Respect, huh. That was not a bad thing to receive for White Day, at all. He wasnât the kind to take without giving, however.Â
â You like Living World sweets, right? Swing by my office sometimes I will trade ya for more of these âlil guys. They may be small, but theyâre pretty good too, arenât they? â
