The Friend Zone - Abby Jimenez
My review :: 1 star - I have never been so torn as to what a review as I am with The Friend Zone. This book coming out a few years ago I think I wouldn't have put as much thought into it but the over all “issue" between the main characters, I found to be very close minded to the point that I almost put the book down quite a few times. The only thing that kept me reading was the banter between characters. But that’s the problem, people ignored the problematic behavior and only acknowledged the humor. I am not one to be made to laugh easily, and this book was one of the only books to ever have my laughing out loud... loudly. Yes. But y’all..... no. Just no. I wish the characters were more honest and... behaved like adults. The whole storyline was drug out for too long, and half the close minded aspects could have been avoided. Characters - 2.5 stars, storyline - 1 star- humor - 4 stars. But again, we aren’t here for the humor just to ignore the issues. Don’t advertise the main female lead as an independent woman who speaks her mind, when she acts like a 11 child old. It’s offensive to every independent woman in the world. Bye.
