A book called In Praise of Love was mentioned to me and I started to read it. However, there were things about it that bothered me so I had my own philosophy of love compared and contrasted with it. What emerged was quite fascinating.

just finished Badiou's Ethics, which I had to read for a class but also very much enjoyed. it's relatively short, about 90 pages, and very succinct and self-contained. plus it's always nice change of pace to read someone who stayed an unapologetic Marxist long after '68 lol
“Today, it is also quite clear that if we allow ourselves to be intimidated, philosophy will be nothing more than a scholastic quarrel between liberal grammarians and pious phenomenologists.”
