Red and blue flashes across his vision momentarily before a white spotlight is put on him, and he covers his eyesockets with a shaky hand. He tries to yell for help, but his voice catches in his throat. He swallows, stumbles forward a few steps, and manages to croak out a pitiful “HELP, PLEASE—” before he’s cut off by a loud staticy crackle. or,Papyrus wakes up from an unintentional nap and finds out that he’s screwed. in short? it’s good. 

i do get a weird vibe from it tho bc i myself personally view flowey as a child? or at least in like a childish mindset? because he never really got to mature and grow old like other monsters and children, so hes in this awkward limbo of not quite child and not quite adult (but not a teenager. …unless) so him being protective over papyrus (who is an adult) is kinda ehhh because flowey is either being treated fully as an adult or papyrus is being infantilized. both are kind of no nos for me 

there’s a layered power balance thats rly hard for me to trudge thru (like are they equals, aka best friends, or is it more of a older brother and younger sibling relationship with a differential inherent power balance? and thats not getting into timey wimey stuff bc for example bc we dont know when flowey died everything is complicated. if flowey died before papyrus was born, he technically he could be older than papyrus, but if not he could be through the resets etc etc–) 

basically their relationship is complicated but because i love them and their friendship and their characters the nitty gritty answer is Yes.
